I just got a12 valve built and and head redone. They decked the head and also decked the block. Can i make up what they took off with a marine head gasket , like a . 10 over? They told me that they usually seat the valves in deeper to make up what they take off the block and head. Should i be worried about valve clearence?I would like to hear some thoughts on this . And does anyone have the part #s for the marine head gasket?

How much did they deck both pieces? I've been told you can knock at least . 020" off total and still be OK even with a stock gasket.

I could of been given bad info but from what I was told cummins allows a total of 30 of block not sure the total on head. Your compression goes up so you would want to go thicker on the head gasket to drop it back down to stock levels.

But No you should not have to do anything to the valves that I am aware of
