Sorry guys, I can't vote on this one :(

You see, I used to be a top man. Life was good, oil changes were easy... no muss, no fuss. Time went on and I longed for more power. Another box, bigger injectors, bigger turbo and now... . a second turbo. All that piping has forced me to the bottom where it just isn't as comfortable andthe mess ends up on my chest. Sometimes fate changes your path but I still fill my manual transmission through the top :)

Ok -- So the FRAAAAAM has been removed.

He's been replaced with the truly super "SuperTech" oil filter from Walmart.

Notice how the pressure relief valve or surge valve, whatever that peice of sheetmetal is called. that is only good for one pressure surge and then it is done. i remember working at napa and we had an opened wix gold filter that used a spring instead of the stamped sheetmetal. i am not sure what the fleetguard has but it would be good to know.

If you decide to go syn it is generally recommended to wait until the motor is broken in 15-20k. I believe the Cummins to be good for 300k + on dino, so I would rather save the money figuring I will probably want to replace the truck before that kind of mileage.

or I guess in the case of Diamler Benz GERMAN!!

If I remember correctly... . U arent supposed to use any oil filter that uses neoprene(sp?) as the neoprene will break down over time and clog all kinds of very important engine parts... . Also Dodge has a list of approved oil filters for our trucks... If u take ur truck into the dealership with engine troubles and u have an oil filter on it that is not on their approved list... They can and will void ur engine warranty... Unfortunantly I do not have the complete list at hand but I do know the Fleetgard stratapore filters are on there... FRAM is not. . Nor is SuperTech if I remember correctly... Just my $. 02

Anyone finding a better source for Fleetguard filters for our trucks? I know Geno's is good, but any cheaper alternatives out there?

Thanks.

FRAAAAAAAAAAAM & SuperTech are the only way to go. Anything else is just a waste of money. :-laf
