How much do you spend on Christmas Gifts?

How many of your neighbors complain about your truck being to loud? Out of 6 neighbors I have one that complains about my truck waking him up in the morning. At the same time my parents don't know that I leave or come home at night. Make any sense?

Maybe this poll should ask about neigbors who are CLOSE enuff to hear the truck. I have only one neigbor who could hear the truck if he listened closely and he was outside.

Don't think my neighbors mind with all the loud semis and harleys around here... not very quiet living down the road from a harley dealership... .

On one side of my house there is a guy who is almost deaf, so he doesn't mind the sound, but he likes the truck. On the other side is an old lady who for some reason loves to listen to the truck, especially when I floor it onto the main road in front of her house... .

My parents' neighbors, on the other hand, hate my truck. The guy that lives a couple of houses down the road has come at me with a baseball bat on more than one occasion. Somehow, when that happens, he gets covered in a cloud of smoke..... hehe... . :D :D:

my neighbor down the rd a mile comes out to listen to my rig,,,cuz in his words,,,'it sounds so f------g neat

I drive by a house down the road that has a CTD - looks identical to mine other than my mods - I suspect it's bone stock. The guy has a teenage son who waves at me when I drive by. They're out in the yard a lot because they're building a garage. Some day I think I should stop and take the kid for a ride, out of sheer orneryness, just to give him a taste of what the old man's rig could be like some day.

My son & I have not one, but two, straight-piped CTD's parked on the street in front of our house, in a nice, quiet upscale neighborhood. We usually leave at 6:00 a. m. and return anywhere from 8:00p. m. to the wee hours of the a. m.

In 6 years there, we've never, ever, ever had a complaint. Course, the neighbors' cats all run through my yard. Haven't shot at the cats, or complained. :D They're good mousers, anyway, and haven't left pawprints on any of our vehicles. A little mutual understanding between neighbors. :D

not a cummins...

but my 6. 5td tahoe straight piped is pretty loud when giving it to 'er, but has yet to cause any complaints. i just don't get into it [really hard #ad
] when i am on my street.

I'm in the process of going into a new neighborhood, so I don't know yet. Where I was, I didn't get any complaints.

I did have a wierd thing happen though, On an early morn I was leaving on a long trip so I did a fliud check where it was parked in the street. Of course I had to start it to check the trans and I had it running for a few minutes. When I pulled away, I noticed a neighbor 2 doors down was dragging his garbage cans out in a hurry. It wasn't collection day, but He still thought I was a garbage truck making all that noise!

Cure for grouchy neighbors.

Don't antagonize them more than you necessary. But, if you have to then you can't beat an old Detroit. Something like a 238 with a 13 speed double overdrive so there is lots of opportunity to keep bringing up the rpm's will do.

The flip side is a straight piped inline with a Jake.

Most people just don't understand about being "partialy deaf". It's not necessarily a volume problem. It may be an understanding problem. By that I mean he may not be able to hear certain sounds. A lot of noises are very irritating to me because I have to turn up my hearing aid so that I can hear certain frequencies, especially voice frequencies. That means that the frequencies that I do hear are way too loud. For example, I hear road noises way more than most people any time I'm in a vehicle. I can understand why your neighbor doesn't like the truck's sound. He should be used to sound problems by now so he should not be complaining about it. Waste of time to complain. However, maybe you should give him a little slack whenever you can.

I try to be as respectable as I can with the noise not to make a problem. I totaly understand what you are saying about the noise. Like I said I am as quiet as I posably can be I try to keep the rpm's below 1700 and at that rpm you are creeping.

Particially deaf guys are a gouchy bunch anyway. It's a aggravating condition to have. My wife gives me hell when I get too grouchy. My truck is hard for me to put up with on the road so I turn my aid down as far as it will go and turn the sterio up to the "crack glass" setting and I'm ok. Sometimes I just turn the aid off. Sometimes I don't tell my wife I've turned it off. Get smacked when she figures it out. :D

I'm working at a contract job in Roseville now. My travel trailer is in a park in the thriving metropolis of Knights Landing. When I leave in the morning I just let it idle until I get to the street. No body has complained so far. The way the truck is parked it's right under the bedroom window of a 5er so it must disturb them when it starts. I'm there four days a week.
