Now that is sure a pretty strong thread title for such a low percentage situation. It's highly unlikely that anyone in the market now for a CTD will encounter any sort of problems like you experienced GG.

I agree. I don't understand why you're selling the '04. 5. I think it's pretty upstanding of Dodge to replace the truck without any complaints or problems brought up by you. It was definitely a strange situation probably compounded by a lack of expertise by either the dealership or CFC or both. I don't think Dodge is at fault at all though. Good luck getting it all straighted out.

Lightman I agree it is a strong heading thats why I used it!!! This is the 37th vehicle I have purchased over my 33 years. I have never had such B. S. as I have with this truck,Dodge and Chrysler Financial. I don't think to many on here would disagree with me that 10 months is entirely to long of a time to deal with this. I certainly don't want to create hate and discontent {well maybe I do} but I think everyone should be aware what can happen.

crobertson--truck being sold due to the fact I can not be certain the warranty/extended warranty has been correctly put in my name. If the paperwork has been screwed up for 10 months who's to say any of it is correct yet. Lets say in 5 years I have a problem and no one is still around that dealt with this issue and I am left holding the bag!!!! I may consider refinancing with another bank and keeping it {I doubt it though}, but the truck, Dodge and Chrysler Financial has put a real bad taste in my mouth. Now that I beat a dead horse I will graciously sit back and continue to read all the good posts!!!!

Thanks Greg

... Honest-to-god, $1500 savings for going with Chrysler financial for one month...

Tim... I was told that you have to make at least 3 payments to CFC before you can refinance it, if you take their finance rebate...

I feel your pain, but I can't figure out why you would blast Chrysler Financial. They are a bank (of sorts), just like any other finance source. If the first truck had been financed by Bank of anywhere, they would have reported the missed payment the same way. Just because they are an arm of DC does not mean they have any obligation other than contractural to help keep the paperwork straight. Sounds to me like your beef is with the dealer, not DCFS. Besides, don't know many banks in my area that loan money for 0%!

None of the posts on this thread addressed the basic question here which is: Was the phone call about the trucks which were supposedly exposed to sea water legitimate? Has anyone heard of a legitimate recall by DC concerning sea water damaged trucks?

My scam alarm is telling me that phone call may have been a trick. I wonder if that wasn't some dealership or salesman's trick to get you to come in and trade your truck. From that point questionable financing and credit issues may have entered the picture. If you were already driving a fairly new truck with an existing loan a trade could have forced you into a deal with a loan balance higher than the value of the new truck which created a tricky financing situation.

You may have a legitimate complaint against a dealer not Chrysler Finance or DC.

Yes I believe the salt water damaged trucks is a reality, not a sales lie.

GGotier - my point is that your thread title is unfair and inaccurate. You have quite a unique situation, that has absolutely nothing to do with how many vehicles you've bought in the past, nor has any reflection on what a typical shopper may encounter when buying a truck. This is a one time thing, and you shouldn't blast DC because you have no assurance that Ford or Chevy would have handled it any better. Who knows. I think you're jumping to unfair conclusions. I do agree your situation has been tiring and could have been handled far better.

That's not what I was told by my salesman.

It a good thing my business managers do not read this forum

THEY WOULD RING MY NECK!!! --- Not that I am suppose to lie, I am just supposed to slighly encourage keeping it 90 days, FWIW

Cfc Truth Or Dare

You do not have to wait to refinance, they tell you that because the dealer will not make any money on the back end if you refi before 60 days.

When a load is acquired, a dealership F&I team is given a Buy rate. They dealership also submits the loan with approximately 2500 dollars in reserve, that way they can sell you extended warranties, rust proofing and other itmes of which the F&I team make a commission. They are sales people too.

You can definitely refinance anytime you want, it is your truck, your money and your credit that we are talking about here. Chryser Financial, (not part of DCX) is outrageously funny. Their current B rate, is over 12% and S tier rates, are as bad a JD Byrider. (over 20%).

If you want to know how to beat them, finance with them and as soon as you do, then go to your bank and get a real rate with a local company that you do buisness with more than once every 3 years.

Well Tim... I guess its the battle of which salesman is telling who, what... If your buying through Tomeygun, and he has told you that the $1000 finance rebate can be refinanced with a different lender, or paid off immediately, I would tend to believe him. I can only tell you what my salesman told me when I ordered mine. He specifically said that you must make three payments, before any refinancing, or paying it off, in order to qualify for the rebate. If it can be refinanced immediately, so much the better... . ;) ;)

I must have missed a page when responding to this... I'll take TomeyGun's word on this cause my salesman is not a TDR member, and probably just gave me the dealer line... I plan on refinancing with my local credit union as soon as possible... Just want the $1000 rebate from Chrysler Finance... :D

I think this changes from state to state. I live in Maryland and it against the law for any lender for any reason to penalize you for paying off you loan as soon as you like.

I just bought an 05 yesterday and took the 2500 rebate from Chrysler finance. I took the higher rate because I was only financing 16K. Even with the higher rate (6. 4 from CF and 4. 3 from my bank)with the 2500 rebate my monthly payment was less. As soon as my get my paper work back from the DMV I'm going to re-finance the truck at the lower rate. I really don't see anything wrong with doing this, it's just good business.
