i took my truck apart yesterday and to my suprise it has a 12. 25 inch luk clutch in it. i thought maybe it had already been changed. i called luk and they looked up the numbers and said it was original. i called dodge and was told the same thing. i would like to know what you think of this peice of information. i always did like luk clutches. they were good on fords to replace the dual mass flywheel. so i am gonna go with a luk 13 inch clutch with flywheel. and an organic disc. 540. 00 complete delievered.

I put a new OEM style LUK 12. 25 in my truck when I built it. I bought a junkyard flywheel and I was suprised to find it had been freshly resurfaced with the new clutch attached. With the mods I have it only slips in 5th gear.

I replaced my original LUK with the Pro Gold at 125k. No problems so far, but also had none with the original. I was getting scared of the pilot bearing. I do have more fuel now than I did with the original though. Can't complain about the price either.

LuK's stuff must have come a long way in 5 years. I had a ProGold in my 1stGen that wouldnt hold what the stock Sachs with 230K would hold. I couldnt return it to Rocky Mountain Clutch, as it was a special order (ok, I COULD have, with a convenient 25% restock fee), so I was stuck with it. I ended up trading the truck for another CTD Ram, so I have no idea what came of it.

I put a pro gold in my 96 30,000 miles ago, and so far no problems or slipping, but with mild mods. I am also interested in seeing how many miles people get out of these clutches. By the way, How do I get my truck profile to come up on the bottom?

Go to the User Control Panel under the discussion forums drop down menu, and go from there. When you get to the User Control Panel, you will see an option for edit signature. Fill it in, then I think you can also opt to show signature in each post. The default option may be in there (whether to show or not show signature). Clear as pea soup, now? thought so.
