Cat removal on '01 Chevy K1500

Does anybody have any feed back on the Caliber 2. 4L w/ the CV Transmission? Now that my 2006 is paid for I am looking to add a small car for running around. I see a lot of the Calibers on the road and with the life time drive train warranty it may ease my concerns about the continuously variable trans. The range of 24 to 29 mpg is o. k. but I think it could be better for such a small car. Any feedback and experience is greatly appreciated.

They are great cheap cars, just like the neons they replaced. I have a co-worker that just bought the same setup you are looking for and he loves it. We were gonna buy a brand new one last year but decided we didn't want to lease or have that new or a vehicle.

we just bought an '08 compass ...

15,999$

5 speed , a/c, cd, aluminum rims

stripper

first three tanks were 29mpg

4th tank, with family of four and big dog and suitcases came down to 25mpg but that was running 75-80 and downshifting to 4th for the steep hills ...

gotta love a lifetime powertrain warrantied 4cyl ... . like learning to drive all over again ... i've owned nuthin' but cummins' since '91

mileage went back to 29 daily driving

with the exception mentioned above when loaded down and revved mercilessly all tanks have been in the 29. xx range

no 28 mpgs and no 30 mpgs

we love it ...

I had a Caliber for a lease car for two weeks while on comapny business. I absolutely hated it... so did the other 2 who were with me and we shared the driving. extremely poor visability in my opinion. Huge blind spots to both rear quarters, and with the short windows poor visability out of the drivers/passengers windows.

Just my opinion.

It ran ok though... but I would never buy one (or lease one again).

Hope this helps.
