My new project

Does the Kenworth bracket for alt/A/C work?

My question is there any differences in the frame on a 97 gasser? I am wanting to put my 12 valve from my 94 into a 97 extended cab frame. It has the same axles and i would use my trans. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Is the 97 gasser a 2500? If so, I believe that a 2500 with a Cummins diesel has a 3500 frame under it to accommodate the extra weight and torque.

Dont worry about the HP and TQ unless you plan on sled pulling or drag racing. I have had the Cummins in my Dakota for over a year now with basically the stock frame except for the modifications to put the Sold axle in. My frame is only fully boxed to the middle od the cab from there back it is "C" channel style. I have yet to have a frame issue. I dont sled pull or drag race with it but I do put quite a bit of miles on it for a show truck. I just drove it to and from IRP from Scranton PA for the 2nd time and I drive it around the city all the time.

The 97 gasser is a 2500. The frames appear to be identical and it has the same weight rated axles. In order to have the same weight rating wouldn't the frames have to be the same???? I could be wrong about that but that was my thinking. Thanks for the replies.

They are the same. My 2001 3500 cummins 6 speed is sitting on a 99 2500 gasser auto frame. I had to drill out the holes for the control arms but that was it. but in your case going from 94 to 97 that wont be and problem. 00 to 02 have bigger front axle housings then 94 to 99. 2500 and 3500 us the same frame whether there gas or diesel it doesnt matter.
