Depends on what is was going to used for, as I remember the 545 is a 4speed with no overdrive... .

Hmmm, $400 for the adapter + cost of Allison trans + heartache trying to get everything to communicate = maybe spend money better on an aftermarket rebuild ? ? ? MHO

Yuck. Don't use the Ally 545, Grey Wolf is right, you'll hate the thing. I want the 6 speed with the 2 speed reverse dealy.
