For the first 1000 miles, any time I ran the engine over 2600 RPM, it would fall on its face - I mean, just like you pulled the plug! :( Since passing the 1000 mile mark, it pulls strongly all the way up to (and past) 3000 RPM. It appears that Dodge or Cummins has programmed the PCM or ECM to defuel at 2600 RPM for the first 1000 miles - this limited RPM band was a real pain when towing our 5ver at 700 miles. Can't wait to try it again this coming weekend! :D

I suspected the computer had some step stages programmed. I asked my dealer and they confirmed there are several stages in the program. The last one being somewhere around 12K. That is why they won't really listen to you regarding "low power" or "poor fuel mileage" until you are past the 12K stage. You are doing the best thing you can do to break it in. Hook up to something and go haul it!!!!!!
