A dealer in Kellogg, Idaho called Dave Smith Dodge I believe it was. When I was stationed in Alaska a lot of friends would buy from this place. Their customer service was legendary. Guys would buy the rig, Dave Smith Dodge would fly them down, put them up in a hotel, prep the rig, deal with any thing found on the walk around and tank them up for the drive back. Other guys would buy from them, Dave Smith Dodge would arraigned to have it shipped up to Anchorage and still beat the locals by $2000-$3000. No experience with them myself just what I heard from friends who were very happy.

Found their web site:

The fleet manager at South County Dodge in Gilroy is good to deal with. I got both my trucks for just over invoice. The 2nd one was just $100 over invoice. You can use www.kbb.com to determine what options you want. Go to him or fax him the list. kbb.com was to the dollar of what the wholesale prices were when I purchased.

Unfortunately I can not recomend their service department.

Use the search feature on this site. There is supposed to be a pretty good dealership just east of Manteaca. They would be closer to you. Their service has been recomended and you can compare prices with Gilroy.

Best of luck!

Gary,

I got my Ram at Redwood City Dodge for $99 over invoice. Only dealer I could find in the area that would order a regular cab with HO motor and 6 speed.

Jim Povio was who I worked with. Not Mr Personality, but got the job done for me.

Kellog ID. No bs shopping and the largest Dodge truck volume seller in the country. They move over 20 vehicles a day and had 1600 on the lot when I was there. That means theres a good chance that the exact truck you want is already on the lot or in the pipeline. The only real downside to buying there is your local dealer may be less inclined to give you a loaner when you have your truck in and that sort of thing.

I used to live in central Idaho. I bought a Minivan and Dodge Ram from Hansen Garage in Orofino Idaho years ago. I was real happy with them. A heads up about Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg Idaho. In the late 90's, I heard of people having real good experiences with them, but I also heard of horror stories (mid 90's) with them. Like a lot of dealers, it often depends on which salesperson you get. KL

DAVE SMITH MOTORS

A positive "+" for DAVE SMITH MOTORS. The previous post said it just right when commenting on, it all comes down to the individual attitude of the dealership. I was real happy with my sales consultant- Jeremy O'Brien :D . Obviousely, the training Dave Smith Motors implements on their entire Team is why they have been so successful. The success DAVE SMITH MOTORS is realizing is no accident. It was obvious to me "from the get go" Dave Smith Motors recognized I could buy my Cummins from a dealer closer to my home (if I wanted). My many demands were met to my exact specifications. Their parts and service departments ran down the answers to more than one of my "lengthy questions" as if my satisfaction was their only assignment. One such question regarding an aftermarket product was answered by Gary Garnsey who went out into the shop (on a cell phone) and reviewed my question with a couple of mechanics, as I listened. I could hear the clatter of the Cummins and appreciated the "opinions" I was allowed to overhear. Absolute Customer Service !!! You owe it to yourself to explore the best possible options available . I'd recommend a call to DAVE SMITH MOTORS 1 (800) 635-8000 :D Jim :D

My dealer made me give him 500$ to order my truck Dane. Same reason as you qouted. He said, I wont be able to sell a reg cab standard. I did get invoice price though. Man I do wish I would have gotten cruise but I was in that simpler is better zone. Oh yeah the dealer was Marietta Dodge.

Hmmm... . In the mid 90's Marietta Dodge treated a friend and me like scum when we wanted to test drive a car. Hope they have improved!

Western Dodge Dealers

I purchased a big red 2500 4X4 last June from Dave Smith motors in Kellogg Idaho. It was the best truck purchasing experience I ever had. I will be returning to purchase the wife a Jeep from them this spring (can't talk her into a truck!). Great customer service, no pressure, and I saved a ton of money. Good luck
