Hummer W/Duramax

I asked some folks how to remove the Dodge emblem from the back of the truck and was told to use a hair dryer. I did this and the letters peeled right off! The pisscutter of it was is that the sticky glue stayed on the paint. I tried everything to remove this schizen and nothing works! Any ideas folks?
Thanks in advance. .

Try WD-40 and let it soak, great for road tar removal too.

If you have access to a body shop or a parts store that sells paint and accessories get a solvent, I have used "Prep Solv" and it works very well. In fact I used it today to remove chewing gum off a car.

I have some stuff called "De-Solv-It". It's a VERY strong citrus smelling (contains a lot of citrus oils) solvent that seems to not hurt much. I use it to remove sticker residue from computer cases and/or monitors.

It doesn't seem to hurt plastics or electronics, but you have to put it on, wipe it, wipe it, wipe it, every minute or two.

But, it smells nice and doesn't eat your skin at all. It's also non-poisonous, so it's reasonably safe around the house, even if you have kids.

I use a 3M product called "Adhesive Remover".
Once you're done removing the glue,be sure to do a good rub out of the area with a polish/wax,or else every time it rains or you wash your truck you'll see a clear outline of what lettering was there.

I,ve also used #3M products... Way good luck for many years. Although, it's a pretty scary thing to apply the adhesive remover , and watch it boil away like paint remover on your HI Dollar truck... #ad

I want to thank you all for the kindly advice! I just got home from work (graveyard), will get a few winks, and try your suggestions! Thanks again.

Saw a few trucks with the black plastic removed from the tailgate. Would any of these products work on the removal of this piece? Looks like the plastic piece is held on with glue.

them pinstripe removing wheels do a good job at removing adheasive too. . i used that when debadging my truck. sawed off the badge with fishing line and then the wheel to take the glue off

yep,,the black piece on the gate has 2 sided tape around the edges.

just pry on a corner of the plastic and use a razor to cut it away from the tape.

then use goo-gone or others listed above for the tape/glue removal and then a cleaner/wax to buff the whole gate.
