Quaker Steak & Lube Diesel Rally

I saw the ad in TDR issue 37 page 77 . I dont see any body talking about it on here. Is anybody going its August 9, 10. Is it a Dave Smith deal?

Why don't you find out more information and post it here? If the event is on again I doubt we will find Dr. "P" attending this time:) I would likely trek up there again. Nice little small town with friendly people.

Yes it is.

The event is at Dave Smith's place. I don't know much more than that, except there will be plenty of people from the NW there.

I was just in Dave Smiths Motors about 3 weeks ago. What a screwed up place. I had to park 2 blocks from the office and walk. The office area had so many sales people and customers in it, with no partitions, I could hardly hear the salesman talk.

Where do they have these get togethers? I would like to go, but I can't see them holding one in the area where I was. Anybody that has been to one, it would be nice to have more info about it.

Agenda?????

Could we get someone to give us an agenda on what's going on??? I might take a 10 plus hour cruise up there if there is something going on besides the beer garden. . :D That's a lot of driving for a beer. :p

This is more information regarding the Dave Smith Motors Jamboree, sent to me from Rick Stillwell, to pass onto others that need additional information.

Kellogg, Idaho is located on I-90, approximately 70 mile east of Spokane, Washington. Take exit 51 to get to the dealership. The Jamboree will be August 9-10 at Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho. Start time on Friday will be around 11-12 and Saturday will be 8-6, with the concert starting at 7. Parking will be limited around the dealership, but we will put a trolley in service that will allow you to park virtually anywhere in town you wish. The trolley will cover both venues we have going and should make its laps every 10-15 minutes, so there should not be much wait time. The old playgound, at the old Elementary school, across the street from the dealership will serve as our show area and those who wish to vie for the best dressed truck will park there.

We will have 2 2003 Ram trucks here. A 3/4 ton with the new Hemi and a 1 ton with the new Cummins. Cummins and Dodge reps will be here for question and answer and Cummins reps will give seminars.

Also we will have a 2003 Viper, Crossfire and Sidewinder concept vehicles, along with numerous other show cars. There will be vendors here to dress your truck as well as a dyno to check your muscle.

In conjunction on Saturday, we will have the "Rally in the Valley" hot rod car show. That Saturday night will feature "Grand Funk Railroad" in concert.

We will have a best dressed truck contest, using a public vote concept. I'm still working on the trophy.

I hope this helps to clear up any questions a person may have regarding the jamboree.

I think I might like to go to this. It would be my first. Does anyone have some fone #'s of motels in the area so that I could make reservations at? Any information would be appreciated

I've got reservations at Super 8 motel, exit 249 I90 for Friday Nite in Kellogg. Claymike, as I think about it, I guess I will be turning off prior to Pendleton about Hermiston heading up 395? What is that, bout 25 miles from Pendleton? Anyway, hope to see you there. \\

Roger
