When I took the trans in to them my first gear was slipping and the following is what was accomplished, at first they thought that the shift sensor for first went bad but there was'nt a check engine light so they removed and opened up the trans and found kick down B loose all the way ( bands loose ) so they adjusted them reinstalled the trans and still had a issue. Then they removed and replaced the burnt out front hub and forward clutches-replaced all clutches and seals to all pistons, replaced the torque converter, oil pump valve body over running clutches, and ohaul OD- front and rear kick down bands.
The trans now runs tight and I am not produceing as much heat. I run now at around 180 not 220 degree's. :-laf
