:D I just got my truck back from Valley Dodge in Van Nuys this morning washed of course and with a totally rebuilt 48re performed under warranty with just 35404 miles on the OD. Mike told me that Dodge will not send a remanifactured trans unless the repair cost is more then 70% for a repair then He also mentioned that He would rather have it rebuilt in house to be sure it was done correctly.

When I took the trans in to them my first gear was slipping and the following is what was accomplished, at first they thought that the shift sensor for first went bad but there was'nt a check engine light so they removed and opened up the trans and found kick down B loose all the way ( bands loose ) so they adjusted them reinstalled the trans and still had a issue. Then they removed and replaced the burnt out front hub and forward clutches-replaced all clutches and seals to all pistons, replaced the torque converter, oil pump valve body over running clutches, and ohaul OD- front and rear kick down bands.

The trans now runs tight and I am not produceing as much heat. I run now at around 180 not 220 degree's. :-laf

if it was to be right when he got done with it ,I guess it would have been done the first time ;) . now I will give mike a call ,and see why he feels good to say we can't do it right.

I don't understand what your saying?, sorry.

When mine went out they put a NEW one in. I did not want no rookie rebuild from the dealer after the 3 rear ends they rebuilt that failed!Hope Valley is better than the one that did mine.

I was being a smart as$. he said they could do it right,. refering to the fact the factory can not. but when they got done with it, they had issues . so they did not get it right the first time.

My trans is tight, I can't beleave how the tran's runs through the shift's now, I guess it was'nt running right when I bought it and I just did'nt know it because I had never drove a new truck. Now when I set my attitude control on the drive setting my truck haul's and shift's tight, what a huge difference I bet that a aftermarket built tran's would be unbeleaveable in this truck.

I was told that there was a recall on the tran's due to the band's loosening up is this right or was that just bull?.
