I realize it's part of the inspection but as I said above... my stock horn works and the air horn button is kind of hidden. They apparently never tried pushing the steering wheel to actuate the stock horn. It also happened about 10 seconds after the garage door closed so I doubt the driver was doing any state "inspecting". I guess you had to be there. lol.

Dealers should "deal" with what is requested of them by their bosses US The Customers.

How do you reset the computer? Just disconnect the batteries for a minute or so???

Did you ever get your breaks fixed???

How did they know?

Gizmo, chances are that hemroid of a tech had no proof of what you have on your truck. He was more than likely just slinging out a bunch of BS and hoping something stuck to the wall. After seeing the obvious stacks and BHAF, he figured you probably have done more. I'm sure that Mr. hemroid is aware of many of the mods that are available to us. And, for many of us, this assumption is true. Did he have proof? I would bet not. As far as I know, the EZ leaves nothing that can be scanned. Anybody know different? You ought to contact the owner and let him know that you brought you truck in for an unsafe condition that was not fixed.

Or better yet, find a decent dealer that is interested in your business and treats you fairly.

The tech showed me the variations of the fueling schemes in the computer. I denied having a chip (only intake and exhaust), so he reset the computer. It made a big performance difference. So, the way I see it, the ECM detects the EZ and adjusts to it.

I'm not sure how all that works. But he insisted that I had a chip at one time.

Bottom line is, how does the intake and exhaust, or even a chip affect brakes??!! I think the low-life-tech-screw-balls just found an excuse not to fix my truck. Oh well.

I wanna try it

Any special order to disconnect batteries? Or just positives? I dont wanna screw up and have airbags go off on me.

Here's a humorous one for you regarding people messing with your truck in the garage. I recently took my truck in for it's annual safety inspection. They pulled it into the garage and shut the door (I hate that). About 10 seconds later I hear my Grover air horns going off! My stock horn still works by the way. Anyhow, I busted out laughing. The button for the horns is kinda hidden but apparently they found it. "Hmmm... I wonder what this button does? I guess I'll just press it. " It must have scared the heck out of them in that little garage. Bottom line is they had no business pressing the button anyways. Who knows what else they fiddled with. At least they got a little jolt out of it. :D

PUSH to test:

RELEASE to detonate

Maybe they connected the scan tool to check the anti-lock system? (Seems like when that kicks in, the brakes suck) Might be a place to start looking if you want billable time without brakedust and beating drums off.

I was just called by the Recall Dept at DC after they got my reciepts for the the throttle linkage and cable. They said I have recalls on hood latch, shock towers, ignition switch, and something else that needs to be done. Sounds like I might be in a loaner car for a week if I take it in.

dealers

experience says this response was dealer specific. some dealers are not that ornery. they certainly could have addressed your brakes without the other crap. find another dealer. :(

I guess I am lucky living out in the country. My truck is "bone stock" and will stay that way, (I like it the way it is). I may add a Linex bed liner but nothing that would affect the warranty. My dealer is Aurora Dodge in SW Missouri, great people, small dealership, and over 50% of their business is diesel. The service area is set up so you can watch them work on your truck and all of their people are very experenced with the Dodge Cummins truck. They also go the extra mile to make sure you are happy. I feel I am qualified to judge what good service "is" since I haved owned 3 Lexus, 2 Mercedes, 3 Porsche's, and even an Acura NSX, (all of these brands are known for their quality service). I have never experenced any better service or have I ever been treated any better than I have been at Aurora Dodge. Even when I bought the truck from them it was a great experence. Sounds like finding the right dealer, should be the main goal in the purchase of these vehicles. Good luck on your search :)

High Idle Relash????

Gizmo, did you have the high idle upgrade done? I'm just wondering if this was a way for them to detect upgrades as well. Wouldn't it be convenient for that part of it to work but not the idle part.

I took my truck to a local big city 5 stooges dealer and they couldnt fix the problem I had. Later took it to a small town dealer that supports a lot of local farmers etc. . This is where I found a true 5 star dealership. It wasnt all the fancy fixtures displayed and fancy offices I cared about, I just wanted my truck fixed. They fixed it the first time!:)
