I stopped by the local Cummins dealer for parts today, and found a flyer on their parts counter that says this - and I quote:

DODGE RAM ENGINE SALE

Factory Overstock ... Brand New Engines!!!

2003-2005 Dodge Ram Spec.

ENGINE # in stock Price DESCRIPTION

------------------------------------------------------------

ISB-235 10 $4,999 235HP, CPL8224, Sold as-is - no warranty.

ISB-250 8 $5,499 250HP, CPL8223, Sold as-is - no warranty.

------------------------------

I talked to the parts guy, he says these are ready to drop in, they are complete with Fuel Pump, alternator, turbo, etc.

Those appear to be the older 2nd gen engines? I don't know if cummins offers detuned HPCR (3rd gen) engines in 235 and 250 HP... ... I know the SO engine is 250 HP... . something to ponder if you need or want a spare engine to MOD etc.

If I had the dough I'd jump all over that! The 235hp is the Cali SO model from 03-04 and the 250hp is the other SO from 03-04. They probably want to get rid of em because they can't use them after the switch to the 600's.

I didn't quote all of the flyer posted at the parts counter, it said this is a High Pressure Common Rail Fuel System, to Dodge Spec. If you want to call this Cummins dealer, their number is 614-771-1000. I think this is their toll free # - 888-811-9549.

Since I know Cummins asks about $6,500 for a reman B59 engine, this sounded like a super deal for somebody with a high miles engine.
