Dodge Ram HEV Hybrid, does it exist?

Does anyone have any information on the Hybrid Ram or HEV? Is it going to be available to the public? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best I've heard is that they are working on it. I know GM is getting really close, so I know Dodge and Ford are going to follow suit.

I just read an article where they were talking about the two new Dodge models for '05, they e\were the Power Wagon and the HEV diesel hybrid. The article stated it uses a Cummins diesel engine and a 40HP electric motor. The ideal was to have the electric motor start the truck and then the diesel kicks in, saving fuel and lowering emissions. The article also said the electric motor is used to stop the truck, and could be used as an electrical generating source providing power for many electrical needs. They were implying that this truck would be available in '05. I will post the article if I can find it, I get over 30 monthly magazines and confuse where I saw what. Sure sounds nice.

Don't plan on buying one of these too soon. From what I've heard, initial production will be limited to a few hundred units and they will only be delivered to commercial customers. It will probably be a year or two at least before the bugs are worked out and they start selling them to the public in high quantities.
