dodge ram mega cab 06 ??

I've been told theres a new full crew cab called mega cab comming soon.

been looking for pics of it ,but can only find articles that briefly talk about it as one of the next releases by DC. ------anyone seen pics???? where??

as you could guess,no one at the dealer has heard anything about it!!

like to know what others have heard. thanks Luke

There was a picture of it in a recent Four Wheeler magazine. They just showed it as being "caught" and it had the black wrap on the rear doors so you couldn't see it. From what it looked like in the picture, the front doors were the same but the rear had two door handles that were right next to each other kinda like two quad cabs put together on the back?

It is called the Mega Cab. It's got 4 full size doors plus the cab section behind he rear door is several inches longer than before. There's actually enough room to recline the rear seats slightly. Along with the new cab, the front end of the truck will receive a refresh for the '06 model year. It looks really good! Sorry I don't have any pictures. I've only seen it in person. DCX is keeping the launch pretty hush, hush.

You must not have tried to put a 2. 5 year old and a car seat back there. Poor kid barely has room for his feet in there. I am dying for the bigger back seat and a 4500 or 5500 option. DCX is seriously losing the battle for the "I need more than a 1 ton" crowd.

We have three boys - 13, 5, and 2. All are tall like mom and dad (I'm 6' 3", wife is 5' 10"). The 13 year old is already 5' 5", the 5 year old is in a booster, and the 2 year old is in a car seat. We're happy. Could we use more room? I suppose, but I hated my crew cab Ford's turning radius - my dually Dodge can way out turn the old Ford single rear wheel. I know the '05 Ford's are better, but it wasn't that way when I bought mine!

There is a picture on the DTR of the side cab skin of the mega cab sitting beside a current Quad cab skin. It is considerabley bigger and it can give you a good idea of how much bigger it actually is.

Given that the Mega-Cab is supposed to be a short box truck on a long box frame, one would assume that the mega-cab would be about 20" longer than the quad-cab.

The quad cab works for me, but would have agree that the one ton has become inadequate for towing many of todays RV's.
