Cool... but if you go to specs, and look at powertrains, the Cummins there is the 305/555.

Also, the Cummins site lists the "600" but the text relates to the "new for 2003" engines. They do discuss the new engine winning the Wards award under exhaust brakes.

I'm getting mine today... :)

Dodge's web site administrators are running a little behind. I went to the cummins site, they are still showing the 2003 #'s. The dodge site did update the following as well:

Best-in-class towing (Gross Combination Vehicle Weight Rating)

Best-in-class payload capacity

Best-in-class interior room

If I remember correctly dodge never claimed best in class on payload until now.

Where does Dodge have the "Best-in-class interior room"? Maybe in the regular cab models, because there is no way the Quad Cab is bigger than the Ford or Chevy Crew cab-unless they are comparing the Quad Cab to the Extended cab Ford and Chevy??

I agree on the interior room! As with all advertising its a #'s game. My question is what suspension changes were made so dodge could claim "best in class payload"? Ford specs @ 5500 on their regular cab F-350 4x2 DRW. Dodge is still showing their spec @ 5110 on their Regular cab 4x4 DRW. Of course we all know Towing isn't even close Dodge wins by 2200lbs over ford (Fords best towing engine per their specs is the 6. 8L V10):D

I like the size of the 3rd gen quad cab. A crew cab would be way too big for me. I really like being able to load stuff in the back seat (of folding flat storage space) w/o opening the front door first and then trying to stand between the doors.

I did notice the Cummins 600 info on the Dodge website this morning also, but as mentioned, they still have a lot of references to the older engine. The build and price has been screwed up for a long time too. I don't see any way to build a 3500 SRW LWB, and for some combos, they insist on configuring 4. 10 axles.

Build & Price wrong

I just ordered my 04 today (Now I just have to wait for it to come in - ARGH). Oo.

The Order sheet lists the Cummins at $5360 (305HP version price). Joe Donnally's article indicated price increase of $130. I asked several times and was assured that my new truck will have the 600. A number of times different options come up on the same truck on the website

A Full size spare tire is standard equipment on all 4X4 trucks, but at the dealer last night on their own order system it comes up as a $180 option. I pointed to their own literature that states full size spare standard equipment and that ended the question. Sometimes it would come up on the website, other times not.

Website is only a guide at best. Website is also missing Sport package, but it is an available option.

In reading this, and I know I'm out of my truck area, a local dealer told me the 5 speed in out also. If you want to shift you gotta do it with a 6 speed. I don't like the 6. Five and the overdrive is for me. What am I to do now?

Dodge website is lacking in keeping info current, building & pricing is hard to get correct with options wanted/needed. Dodge needs to get some people on this since trucks is a very large selling part of their business. Dealers that want to make sales work hard to get correct info to customers. This club/site has provided alot of info, options, opinions so for.

Dealers are clueless about the '600'...

I schooled a local salesman and his sales manager the night before last...

They tried to get me to order a '600' and I told 'em I don't want it because of all the changes.

They thought only the software was different. So I gave them the rundown... . while their jaws dropped. The salesman wanted to know where I got the info... and asked if I wanted a job there.

I said I would work there if it was a part-time/per diem gig. :D
