There are several posts about low fluid levels and the consequences.
This post is to confirm ALL trucks will arrive at the dealer with low fluid levels.
Today I went by my dealership to check on a few items and spent about an hour with the aftermarket & mopar add-on guru. I said many new truck owners are having problems with low fluids and I want to make sure they are checked on our '03 that will arrive soon!
He said Dodge has notified ALL dealers that the trucks (?possibly all vehicles) will arrive at the dealer with low fluids.
He went on to say that their owner made the decision to fill all fluids and charge it to advertising. He met with the service department and made sure they all understood. He did not want any truck returned for a fluid problem. Further the guru said some other dealers are telling the customers the fluids are low and the customer has to fill them, while others ... . well you know who they are ... . we read posts every week from TDRer's with whinning in the rear end or bearings turning in the axle. Looks like those are the stealers who are doing nothing, not even warning the buyer.
Can you trust your dealer to have checked or filled your fluids?? I guess it is either re-check it yourself or have them put it on their rack and watch them do the work... ...
Glad I have the honest dealer I have, but I will still want to see them check, just for peace of mind - - - mine.
