From original post - guy in Dakota:

The guy told me that made #9 he has hit in the last year along that road.

Maybe this fellow would be interested in one of Phillip's deer guards - or a bigger truck - with a plow. :-laf

Bought a new grille shell today... . just happend to be the last one in Billings Mt. The parts man said that they were going fast, as he looked on the computer and it showed deals who were minus stock in hand. I kind of razzed him about the price, asking why he was giving me a deal if other dealers wanted it... . He "gave" me a deal... . 219 down from 269. I couldn't remember the price Phillip had paid. It looks as if I did OK.

Any way... . guys if you want them..... best step to the plate... as it were.

I dug this old thread up to show the bumper I finaly got around to finishing. :-laf

It still bare steel for a couple of days. I'll throw a couple of coats of epoxy primer and some Imron paint and it will be good for a few years.

Looks good. I can tell you my winch bumper did a number on a Sebring convert the other day. I bet your bumper would look alot nicer with a new hood... .

:p

It will be on pretty soon. I got to paint my air ride tomorrow. Then prep and paint the bumper. Then I'll change out that old mangy hood. :-laf

Philip, sorry to hear about the damage, but glad you are ok. We took out one a few years ago in the wife's 97 Caddy. We were doing 60, several cars coming our direction with headlights and I didn't see it until I was right on it. Set off the airbags (which totaled the car for insurance purposes), wasted the grille, knocked the critter onto the hood, which cracked the windshield.

Other than a small anti-freeze leak from a cracked radiator, she was still driveable. Detroit 1, Deer 0. So with the insurance deal, we ended up getting another used Caddy. We know the body shop guy. He bought the car from us and paid us the difference from insurance than if we had declared it Totaled. He fixed it up, has a clean title and is now his wife's car.

Did I mention that I hate deer? The only good thing about them is that a lot of them will end up as dinner.

Last winter I nailed one with my truck, I got lucky but I cant say the same for that deer. My flatbed sticks close to a foot more than the cab and he managed to hit the corner with his noggin. :D Hit him so hard he fell right into my freezer. ;) I guess 60mph doesnt feel very good.

I wasn't that lucky. I tenderized her with all three left side tires. Then that

2wd Dakota had its turn with her. About all that was left was hide and a large stain on the road. :-laf

Near as I could tell his head hit the corner of my bed. Snapped the antlers right off. (Well, I found the one the other either disappered or was already missing, maybe somebody else's truck?) Me:D... . the other guy#@$%!
