Here is a picture of a Ford that according to the tow truck driver rolled 6 times. He was drunk traveling at high speed towing a newer 28 ft. travel trailer. There is literally nothing left of the trailer. Just the frame. He had it covered under a blue tarp so I didnt get a picture of it. Yes he lived and is now in jail.

THIS IS MY POINT: Dodge trucks fair better in rollover accidents. This has been my observation for quite awhile. Every Ford or Chevy I have ever seen that has rolled is pretty bad. Flattened, most of them. I have not seen this with Dodge trucks. They do not have nearly the amount of damage as Ford or Chevy. I see them in salvage yards and in auto swapper mags flattened. I have never seen a Dodge like that. Case in point: Last week on CNN they showed a high speed chase of a 2 Gen. Dodge, I believe it was a Cummins. It was stolen. The video showed this thing go off the highway and go airborne down the side of a hill, land, do a few bounces, then get sideways. and then rolled down the hill 3-6 times. Passenger was ejected. Driver bailed and took off running when truck landed on its wheels. Truck was in real good shape. I would have had more pictures for you of some Chevys and more Fords that I have been saving, but my wife got rid of the auto swappers they were in. :{

This is the point of posting this thread: Have any of you noticed that Fords & Chevys dont hold up in rollovers? What has been your observations?

funny timing on this subject my friend rolled his 04 dodge reg cab monday night he has a small scratch on his left arm and the truck held up pretty good lost most of the glass left fender, door and roof damage on both sides his truck is 8 mo old 2 mo newer than mine bad news his wife has not paid insurance in 4 mo.

You know I read that and was thinking alright! Then the part about the insurance gave me a sick feeling inside. That has got to stink!

Get pictures of his truck. Post them.

My wife rolled her '00 1500 Dodge quad cab in 2001 due to a bad spot in the road. She came out scared and bruises from the seat belt. The cab structure and shape were not compromised. Insurance company refused to total the truck and gladly forked out $13000 for sheet metal repair and painting. There was not an panel on the truck that was not dented.

My sister-in-law and father-in-law tangled with a semi tractor where their truck (2001 2500 Dodge quad cab) was hit in the left side by the tractor. Both scared and minor bruises. The truck was totaled with pretty severe damage (frame, etc).

This family will only drive Dodges. I have seen some fords and chevys that have been through the same type of accidents, but their drivers were not available for comment. :(

My brother said my 03 dodge rode too rough, so he bought a 05 chevy diesel

526 miles on it and he took me for a ride pulling a brand new flat bed trailer with 6000# of steel. He totaled the truck and trailer when he lost control of the trailer at 55 mph on a straight road (found out later that the trailer brakes didn't work!) anyway, we both walked away with only our pride bruised. He now owens a 05 3500 Dodge cummins and never complaines about the ride! :D

I know where a late model 1500 Chevy is sitting, a salvage yard with severe driver side damage. The other vehicle drove about 18 inches into it. It was a Firebird!!!

Im seeing a pattern here. Lets post some pictures to prove it. I have been noticing this fact for the last couple of years. If someone has a picture of a Dodge with its cab flattened, I'd like to see it. I have never seen one. Man I wish my wife wouldnt have thrown those other pics of Chevys & Fords away!

You can flatten anything if you try hard enough. I don't know what happened to this truck, I found the photo on the web. At least it looked survivable.

Guy on my job just rolled his Ford going around a curb. He said he slipped off the edge of the road while turning on a ramp to I-295. Truck was toast... they did not total it but spent 6 weeks fixing it. They replaced everything except the right side panels... including the frame and rear end. Now you would think that a red light would go off in his head saying... man these things handle and are built poorly but when he got it back... he traded it in for another Ford

The Dodge in the last picture looks like an extended cab. Extended cabs usually do worse that quad cabs cause they have no B pillar or at least not of any sound structure. My 04 came with side air bags, I think only Dodge has them.

Sorry for the sidetrack- but the opening post made me think of the guy in the RV forum considering letting his kids ride in the trailer. Be nice to have a picture of that so any- "give the kids a thrill" folks would reconsider... now back to our main topic...

Just a little not on the trailer. I had seen it the week prior sitting there in the back and couldnt quite make out what it was. I thought it was a flat bed with a bunch of junk piled on it. There was no stucture left. It literally disinigrated. They just piled all the debris on top of the trailer frame and towed it to thier holding facility. It wasnt until I seen the Ford when I pulled in there that I realized it was a travel trailer. By that time he had the blue tarp on it and was about to haul it away.

That Dodge in the picture above is bad. That has got to be the worst I have seen yet.

DW you asked so I deliverd haha

I see youre from Grayling. Were having a dyno on May 21/22nd (camping is welcome) if your interested :D

those byfar have been the worst Ive seen a dodge.
