ICloeman, That is in Jackson. Could you PM me on the particulars. Where, when, how much, etc. .

PGiannosa, Thanks for all your hard work. . My reason for starting this thread was to truly see if our trucks really do fair better in rollovers. I had never seen a crushed Dodge until IColeman posted pics. And I have been looking. Thanks Again IColeman! :) For bursting my bubble. :-laf

The center dodge in that first set of 3 pic. dont look like a collasped roof looks like they cut it off due to the doors being mashed in. You can see the roof in the bed.

Exact reason I ordered my truck with side curtain airbags. At least the initial hit won't hurt as bad. When you're in the middle of no-where and roll it, that extra $450 for the airbag option just might save your butt.

Good eye woodsrat, I didn't notice that. It looks as though the roof was actually intact and needed cut to get people out.

The side impact airbags DO NOT deploy in a rollover just so you know. They are only intended for an actual side impact collision... . They really would not do much good in a roll over anyhow as by the time they deployed and deflated you would just be entering the roll...

Why didnt you point out that the very 1st pic of the ford had the roof cut and was actually still intact? could you guys be a little biased???????

this whole discussion is one of the dumbest things i have ever seen. everyone just keeps praising the dodge when the truth is the dodge has a great engine and an ok truck. my superduty ford sheetmetal was way thicker and stronger than my 05 dodge. i never got a single dent in my ford truck bed even without a liner. my dodge with a spray in liner is getting the crap dented outa it. its like its made out of tin foil. go up and hit the bottom side of the bed. it flops around like crazy. go up and hit a superduty and you will hurt your hand.

it cracks me up some of these replys i have read here. you cant compare any 2 differnt accidents let alone brands and come to any real conclusions. every one has differnt varibiables and miracles that may have happened. if that 1st ford really rolled 6 times i think it looks remarkably well. but do you think a fellow dodge owner would say that? Well guess what... I just did!!!! :-laf

unless you go buy a truck from all 3 and roll them off the same hill. . I call B. S. on this whole discussion.

have you ever looked at the front end components on a superduty? they are huge compared to dodge. i have never heard of any fords having death wobble or worn out ball joints in every other post like i see here.

my point is all the trucks have good and bad. but this is kinda a pointless discussion. its kinda fun the see and talk about but when people really belive that there truck is so much better when its really not and may even be worse in a lot of ways it gets irritating.

ok i am done ranting. peace to all... even those that drive ford's and chevy's ;) :D

Question  I see all the pics posted and the discussion about which truck is better for protection and such, but with one exception I do not see anything about the drivers attentiveness to what he was doing.

That one exception was the driver, who wrecked the Chevy because of trailer brakes being a problem, that if I understand correctly, he did not check for being functional.

So why is the debate over the trucks? I am curious as to what the drivers were doing at the time they lost it  and what their part of responsibility was? Did they get hit, blind sided or ambushed or were they un-attentive to the situation around them because they were not doing what the requirements of good driving practices require for safe operation?

My bet is the latter for the most part.

well have fun enjoying your 6. 0 no. I am sick of people saying dodges are a piece of crap with a gem for a motor, I have put a total 1/2 million miles on 5 different dodge diesel trucks over the last 10 yrs, problems could be listed on one hand, try that with a superdoooty. people with chevs and fords are just used to having to make repairs, they are a poor copy of a dodge anyway, with miles of plastic for an interior. power this dura that, fords or for people that are too stupid to realize an I6 is a better set up for a diesel

Its people like you that make this a great place... . :-{} i have had 2 superduties and now this dodge. i do like the dodge but it has its problems just like ford a chevy do. you can pretend they are perfect if you like... its up to you... but i know the truth. i hated my 6. 0 motor thats the only reason i dumped the truck... well that and the turning radious. i loved the 7. 3 i had but had to sell it for financial reasons.

you should try being a little more open minded. there is no great 1 truck outa the 3 but i will say i am not a big fan of chevy at all... . so put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!!!! Oo.

oh and maybe there is a little truth to what your sick of hearing??? or else why have you heard it so much?????

Having friends in the fire and rescue is what I paid attention to, they see all trucks and vehicles in all situations and I take what they have to say to heart a lot more than anyone on this thread and when they say the Dodge tricks do have a much better reputation for roll overs than the others you know what I listen.

Aside from that I have seen Dodge's Chevy's and Fords that have rolled in person as I am near a CHP tow yard and I do not care what you say the Ford's are always flat on top, the especially scary ones have always been the 4 door crew cabs every one I have seen, the Chevy's seem to be variable but they tend to be overall more beat up then the rest and the Dodge's I have only seen a couple that were like the pictures shown on here. So that is what I go by not what I read alone. I for one am not saying that the others are not ok. Just kicking around some info that is all.

As far as this being a pointless waste of time then why are you posting? If your not interested go away, maybe some of us find it interesting to see this stuff even if it is pointless. What I am tired of is people on this board who have to tell everyone they are stupid for saying this or that or comparing this or that if you have something to add that is useful great if not you are just adding to the pointlessness of the thread.

Alright enough I am tired and grouchy I am going to bed, good night to all...
