Dodge vs PSD... a grudge to settle!!

This guy at an auto parts store that I trade at thinks his PSD is the HOTTEST thing going. He harshes me about my Dodge and said he'd race me any time. I think that he only has a chip on it. Both trucks are automatics. I walked in there today and said that I had $200. that said mine would prevail. He said to bet as much as I wanted to lose.

I just recently installed some DDIIs and have had an Edge EZ that I would set up to the third notch to run him. DTT took care of the trans. I'm running 3:54s. My truck is awful fast (atleast to me!). I'd like to "put him up and shut him up:-{} !" What do you think? If I am going to do it, I am going to make it worth my while!! ($$$)

my brother has a 125hp chip in his 01 psd and if thats all the parts guy has my money is on you. if he has injectors too then you'll need more than a EZ.

race him from a stopped position and try not to let the tires spin.

your DTT transmission is what will win you this race

You should smoke'm no problem but put a Comp on your truck and you'll be amazed. I have BDII's and comp and blew a Dakota R/T with a 360 in it on the highway and blew a Chev 350 from a red light, I myself couldn't believe it and I mean I didn't have any problems at all walking away from both of them. The Dakota guy wasn't convinced neither was my cousin sitting in the pass. seat (big gas believer) so he raced me again and guess what? He lost again Now my cousin and the other guys are believers.



BTW my truck is 3500 4X4



Problem is you'll race that guy, win and then you'll be looking for more HP and racing the gassers, it's worth go for it

Chris, if he has a chip and some propane or some injectors he could be VERY quick. Even if he just has a chip they are pretty quick, be careful... ... ...

I watched a stroke with a 75 hp chip and 4 inch exhaust run mid 16s Friday night. At least that's all he admitted to. I would think your truck with the DDIIs would run low 15s anyway. This guy claimed a 75 chip when I asked him but he sure was blowing the smoke whenever he launched.

I would be pretty sure that he doesn't have hotter injectors in it. The stock ones are way way way to expensive to begin with, could you imagine what hot ones would cost. More than most occasional runners can afford.

Aftermarket injectors for the PSD will run anywhere from $1500 to $2500 or more depending on the stage. Pretty pricey for a guy working at an auto parts store.

On the test drive with my new DTT trans and all of the "goodies" hooked up, I did a non power brake launch and it couldn't have been better. I just nailed it and the rear wheels ever-so-slightly, I mean so-slightly broke loose. The truck just took off. It smoked a good bit as I didn't have any boost but then it cleared up and jammed. I think I have him thinking... He asked me if the trans was the only thing I had done in Canada. I said yes because I put the DDIIs in BEFORE i left to Canada

It hasn't yet... I found out today that his truck is a 4X4 and it is also four door. It is a short bed. My truck is only 6000lbs and I'm sure that a Ford 4X4,four door has got to be atleast 1000 lbs more! I have to talk him into going out to a town called Creston. There is this one road that goes straight for about 4 miles. (I used to see how fast I could get a UPS truck going on that road ) It has only a few driveways on it and is rarely traveled. We could mark out a 1/4mi and go head to head.

MH, If you still work for UPS, I would go back and edit (erase)that remark in a hurry! I will be interested to see who wins... I have a buddy who wants to race my stock 03'HO, he has a stock 6. 0 ford 4x4 w/utility bed. Should be a close one...
