2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dodge Warranty Question

The local DC Dealer Just informed me that they can not warranty my CTD 01, lift pump or injector pump because the truck was listed in their files as wrecked. Actually the truck is restricted, what ever that means.

Yes the truck was wrecked and registered in AZ as DISMANTLED. It was sold in one piece at the auction and ended up at a local Junk Yard. We rebuilt and retitled it prior to putting it back on the road. (See my pictures) Who titles the vehicles as DISMANTLED?

Do we have some collative knowledge about what a DISMANTLED title has to do with the engine and drive train warranty?



Hundreds of these wrecked vehicles go south across the boarder daily and many return to be sold in the US. Thats a differ ant subject that the local re builders complain about.

i think that any "blemished" title voids any warranty that might have been... congrats... . at 24k YOU ARE NOW YOUR OWN WARRANTY STATION!

I’ve been down this road myself (not on my current truck though). If it has a SALVAGE, REBUILT, JUNK or DISMALTLED title, and if Dodge finds out about it, all warrantees (except for recalls) are out the window. I don’t understand why recalls are still in effect if the rest of the car is not, but that is not the point of discussion.



I have had a car in an accident (a very minor one at that) but the insurance company had sent a note to Dodge stating that, and Dodge flagged my warranty where Dodge would not cover any items that might be related to the front end (cowl and forward). Note: the bumper, grill and headlight were all it took to fix the above problem.



I believe that other car manufactures are the same way; this is not a Dodge issue.



On a different note, I drive my vehicles until the wheels fall off of ‘em. I can buy a vehicle with a rebuilt title for less money, or I can see it before its fixed and I will know the repair history beforehand. Selling a car with a rebuilt title will net you a lot less money, but hay I’m cheap (and admit it).

Works like this, The original owner bought a vehicle and a warranty (package deal, can't seperate) If the vehicle is totalled, then the insurance company compenates the owner and there is no more 'vehicle', only a pile of parts that once were a vehicle. Once the vehicle "died" so did the warranty. The factory put it together the first time and stood behind their work with a warranty, God only knows who put it together the second time and the factory doesn't have to stand behind someone elses work. When the vehicle was totalled there was no inventory of which parts were un-harmed, so all are conscidered scrap.
