I was hit by an impaired driver friday night, mega cab saved my life, I was wearing seat belt and air bags deployied, waiting to see if insurance will total the truck, frame appears to be bent to me. I dont know how to insert pictures

ACK! Thank god you're OK?! New truck time. Hit that hard and your truck being nearly new I think I'd fight for a replacement whether it's officially "Totaled" or not.

Whoa!!!

Here are the pics from DDoster of the accident. He sent them to me to put up for him. I'm glad you are ok.

DAMN DRUNK DRIVERS..... Sue the crap out of him as I am sure this isint thier first offense... . if it is... . sue him anyway... . this isnt an "accident"... this is bordering on attempted manslaughter or at the LEAST assualt..... damn drunk hits me and I survive... you bet I will go after him for assualt at the least... . I relize as long as there are human beings this will happen but we need to SPANK these idiots ... . seems to be getting worse..... dude... glad you made it out ok and it is a shame that your truck is toast... i would also hope that it gets totaled... the bummer is that these trucks have alot of repair room... . on the other hand they also have a high salvage value... ok... i am done.

I had a friend that had a brand new lifted F-250 6. 0. It had rolled down a hill and looked way worse than that. His Ins. co told him that its got 27K worth of damage and its worth 34K, then they found more damage after the cab came off, such as the transmission and T-case, cases were cracked on top! It took from Thanksgiving till about two months ago to get it back and he says it drives like a brand new truck! He told them to totall it out but they wouldnt due to the truck was worth more than the totall damage!

Bet his truck is better now then it was when he purchased it !!!!! :D

Wow, I'm glad your ok.

I'm sure why have all driven after a beer or two, but myself if I've drinken more than that, I get a ride or find a spot to sleep it off. It's just stupid to try and drive.

GLAD TO SEE YOU ARE OKAY!! I suggest to do all you can to get a new truck. When I purchased my truck new in 02, I was in an accident about 1000 miles later and I never had the same feeling for or about that truck. I sold it 30K later, and wish I had a truck that was flawless like when you get it brand new.

That is a hard smack you took, glad you are ok. :(

 Show no mercy to the Drunk SOB that hit you. You had a brand new truck and he owes you a brand new truck, plus loss of wages for work missed, plus hospital, plus the fuel that was in the tank that now will cost you more, and did I mention the incovience of it.

Daaaayum :--) , that's a hit, that ain't no small car that hit him either, late 70's early 80's Caprice wagon, demo derby special. I bet he has no ins, and not his first dui either. I concur with the others, GO AFTER HIM WITH BOTH BARRELS LOADED!! Truck actually looks pretty good after seeing the car.

There's no way I would drive that truck again. I'd fight like hell for a new truck. I would feel cheated every time I drove it after an accident like that. These frames are constructed in a way that does not permit welding or drilling. Why would a frame straightening jig be permitted? No way.

Wow! The truck took that hit very well, the cab doesn't look that bad actually! But, I agree, try and get the new truck for sure. I am glad to see you are ok, because at the end of the day, the truck can be replaced, you can't!

Were I used to live in Central Wisconsin, everyone drinks and drives, it is like the normal thing to do. I hated that so much, and I wish all those people could see crap like this to scare them into being smart with their drinking.

Great that you're OK!

Now, the front glass isn't broken; nor the roof bent. I'll bet that they try to fix it. Either way, I'll bet that the replacement bumper will be one of those big honkin' bumpers suitable for actual impact! Yep, I'd campaign for a replacement, and then if I didn't get it, I'd let someone else own it, either before of after it's repaired.

lucky to be alive after that one:eek:

Now, the front glass isn't broken

the windshield is spiderwebbed above the passenger airbag. .

drinking and driving is the dumbest thing one can do. .

licenced suspended for 5 years and a $10k fine on top of that for the first offence [and 2nd & 3rd. 4th bullet to head is good for me]

It's reasonable and even required in some places to get a vehicle in equivalent condition after a wreck. That truck was new -- so you should get a new truck in return.

I'd be surprised if the engine wasn't seriously messed up too. Cracked block; unbalanced crank; transmission and drivetrain problems; you're gonna have gremlins like mad if they make you keep it. Awesome rig to part out but not something to drive imo.

That drunk is a lucky drunk (aren't they all it seems?). Anything but that big boat caprice wagon and he'd be in a body bag.

You can bet dollars to doughnuts that you will be fighting with your own insurance company. Anyone who drives a $300. 00 car will not have insurance, and if they do it will be some sorry $10K rider just to get their licence renewed. Next time you are in a wreck, let some Doctor with a $2,000,000. 00 umbrella rider smack you. Sorry for your loss.
