Was that a diesel?
Was the motor a diesel in that MC? I can't see enough (rather there isn't enough left to identify). My theory is that if it is a diesel, the weight of the block (kinetic energy) offset the heavier metal that the old beast that the other driver was driving. If it wasn't a diesel, you are just damn lucky! I worked for AMR for 13 years and saw a vehicle accident once where an old boat just like that hit a full size chevy blazer and just obliterated the blazer. The driver of the old car died from the injuries (was a "b" actor as we found out later and used the car as a beater in the mountains where we were). The impact was so great that the wagon was buckled right in the middle and made an A-frame in the middle of the road.
Count yourself fortunate you weren't in a dodge neon as that would have been very ugly.
Glad to hear you are ok and that you are getting a new truck!
Take care,
