2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dodges deletetion list grows for 2001.

Here is the updated list of missing stuff.

Do we have any recource through the FTC or BBB or anywhere?


1) Lighted vanity. (My wife uses this all the time)

2) Rear cup holders. (Anyone in the rear seats uses these).

3) Insulation under the hood. It's just not there.

4) Rear grab handle on passenger side.

Don't get me wrong, I love our new truck, just not the way the Dodge is treating us.

My late '01 (01. 5) has the insulation under the hood and also the rear cup holders. The vanity lights missing is shameful for such a high dollar vehicle though. The under hood insulation isn't all that big. You mean some are coming with nothing at all?

I have the insulator blanket under the hood, rear seat cup holders and passenger grab handle. I don't have the vanity lights or the tail-gate molding (Sports don't have it)

Stopped by local dealer last night just to check in. They have been calling twice a month trying to get me to order a new 2500.

Mentioned all the above deletions and they added one more!! Cab Clearence lights on 2500's will be fased out by end of 2001. 5 run. Also they thought you'd see a lot of other odd items dropped on 2002 model 2500's & 3500's, plus they had heard rumors that cloth seat trims would be down to just 2 colors & no Leather seats again until 2003 new model. Sales managers excuse was they are getting rid of everything that want fit new 2003 model trucks. Also cutting down number of vendors they buy these odd items from. They were really pushing me to order new 2500, but I said NO WAY since I didn't know what it would come in with or without!!

I'm about to the point where I'm ready to say "to heck with it" and just buy a Cummins-powered Freightliner FL-60 Sportchassis crewcab to tow the 5ver! On second thought, DC probably wouldn't mind that since Freightliner is DC as well. Maybe I'll just get a Cat 3126E-powered Peterbilt 330 instead. #ad

i waould say they are phasing outthe stuff so as not to have overstock when the new model hits , but they still must have parts for 10 years so it makes no sense .

more the reason to stretch my 2000 LIMITED EDITION if i need a crewcab . plus i'm thru bying new from a company that has no respect for their customers .

Took delivery of my 2001. 5 this past September, and it has grab handle, and hood insulation. It was built in Mexico, and also came with undercoat, which was not ordered.
But, isn't the real reason we buy these trucks the engine, towing ability, and durability? Lighted vanity mirrors don't help pull trailers...

I guess the Germans really don't understand the American market for these trucks. If they did they would realize the vanity mirror is going to be expected by millions of paying passengers. Anyway, what an insult to those of us who might actually buy their truck! Bait and switch. Geez, I hope that dura thing works out.
