If its not wastegated, is that just like "plugging" the wastegate? So you have no way to limit the amount of peak boost?

Yes and no. You have no wastegate to control upper end pressures and shaft speed.



The wastegate is in place of what would have been installed directly on the turbo. Not all applications need an external gate, but it sure does make it nice to tune.



And back to the top, if I had a Piers 35/12, I would not waste the money on a Dodgezilla 35/14. Just get a 14cm wastegated housing for you PDR and see how that works. You will most likely get every penny out of the housing that you pay for it. Now if you aere looking at a 40 or bigger, well, all bets are off!!
