How much smoke do you get with an EZ on settings 2, 3 and 4?

Also, I am interested in the highest EGT anyone has seen on these same settings.

('03 and '04 only)

Thanks,

Ken.

I haven't had any smoke with my EZ on any level. EGT's can get up to 1100 pretty fast on WOT. Haven't pulled anything over 4500# on a hill to check smoke or temps. But I didn't even know the trailer was their!:D

Mine has not smoked on any chips that I have tried. The TAG and Aeroturbine do help to reduce smoke. So I don't know if it would have with out them.

On level 6 I can get a little puff of smoke if I step on it then let it coast for a while then stomp on it. Or if I gun it right out of the hole I can get a little cloud of smoke. . nothing like the 2nd gens out there. Wish I could get mine to smoke on demand:D

On level 6, starting up an on-ramp to I-70 in Grand Junction, CO (not sure what elevation GJ is at), towing the Jeep on the flatbed (14,580 lbs GCW) I saw a little bit of a haze in the rearview mirror.

On level 6, starting out from a stoplight in Leadville, CO (elevation 10,000 ft), with the Jeep in the 5th-wheel (22,780 lbs GCW), I saw a pretty good puff in the rearview.

I have seen a small puff of smoke once or twice here at home, I see more when I am pullling through the rockies. I am set on lvl 4 and in the mountains I hit 1300 EGTs pulling up the passes real easy. Around town here (Kansas) pulling with a GCWR of 16k+ I have no EGT problems.

Can you explain how, being that you make the tag, it reduces smoke. Does it cut back the pilot injection? Doesn't it just direct the air into the turbo. Isn't the aeroturbine just a muffler type of gimick? Come on!!!

The EZ alone will give you a small puff of smoke. On level 6 with DDIII's it dumps about as much as my 2001 on level 3x5.

Have you turned the box off to see how much smoke you get with just injectors?

When in doubt, smoke 'em out

I heard a very knowlegeable person say at a TDR rally in Denver yesterday that the more you boost power, the more the engines smoke. I'm sure he was talking about the jobbies up there at 600-700 hp, not the wimpy little boost boxes we normally see.

My '04 throws out more than a puff, I'm going w/ a nice cloud:D . It smokes continuously as I cruise down the road at steady speeds and makes a nice black spot on my rocker panel. But this is with both a box and injectors.

Greg there has been some emissions testing done with/without the TAG (all variables equal with only swapping the TAG in and out) at two different locations on two different rigs and in both cases there was a marked reduction in emissions. I think the reults of one test are on www.dieselpowerproducts.com website and the other was a post. I'll have to see if I can find it. I think their website explains how it works pretty well, it's about laminar flow and increasing the impeller's efficiency through reduced turbulence/swirl of incoming air.

What kind of mpgs are you getting since you added all that stuff?
