Search problems!!

It just started today, if I type www.tdr1.com into the address bar on IE I get the TDR frontpage but I also get a frameset across the bottom which happens to be an ad for Register.com, I ran Ad-Aware and tried again and got the ad again but if I type www.turbodieselregister.com into the addy bar I get the front page w/o the framed ad... . weird?

I get it too!

It drives me nuts and I've been trying to figure out how to get rid of it!

What's "Ad-aware"? Could it help?

hemi some website loaded that on your computer

you need to dump your temporary files.

Also check your favorites for other intruders

Mactruck, Ad-Ware is a software program that runs through your system and looks for programs, add-ons, spyware that will constantly see to it that various ads, banners, and sometimes your personal info gets by you.

I've included the URL for the company that makes it available for FREE.

I've run it for a while now and it has caught several sneaky things on my system. You need to use some care when you delete the files it finds because on rare occassions it will cause the program it was attached to to stop working fully/properly. So far I've had no problems myself. If that should happen you can decide if even want the program on your system and if so just reinstall it to correct.

The Answer

Joesoot, the banner you see is there when you use the address, www.tdr1.com, because at one time we registered a lot of variations of our domain name through Register.com.

At that time, they charged quite a bit of money to forward to another URL, but they offered a free forwarding service that placed that ad on the screen. As each domain name expires, we're moving it to another service and setting up a banner-free forwarding arrangement. That one will expire soon, and we'll get it taken care of. And no, we don't make anything for allowing the banner to be there.

In the meantime, change your bookmark to: https://www.turbodieselregister.com and the annoying banner will go away.

We'll have www.tdr1.com fixed soon.

Hope this helps.

I will be happy when TDR1.com option is fixed, since that's so much easier to type and write down when I tell someone about this great site. :)
