So what does the Future hold for your truck?

super tune on the mailman's diesel Jeep

I do something often while driving my truck and I figured I'd share it. No, it's not what you're thinking. Sometimes I will turn the radio off, roll the windows down, and open up my rear slider and listen to my stack sing to me. I have a short single stack that I can see out the back window. With the rear open, it is extremely loud. Most people would probably think it's ear shattering (it is) and very annoying but I can't get enough of it.

Tonight, I was cruising and when at partial throttle it is actually pretty quiet, even with the rear open. It's such a soothing sound to my ears. It sounds especially nice when rowing through the cogs. Then, when someone drives under the speed limit and I'm unable to pass, I will let them know what ear shattering sounds like when I do pass. Hopefully their window is down. My short turnout is right in their face. I love it!!!

Sorry to rattle on about nothing. I just thought some of you guys do the same thing.

At night in particular, I like to roll the windows down and listen to the stacks. Even on a 6hr drive. :D Even in the winter, unles the windows are frozen up with ice. Just not as far down then. :D :-laf

i open my quarter glass everytime i jump in my truck to go anywhere... . the girlfriend doesnt get quite the thrill as i do..... but then again its my truck :-laf

I hate driving with my window up... I get clastrophobic or something. Have to have my window down and arm on the sill, well unless it's -20* or whatever.

i drive with the windows down weather permitting, and at the few underpasses i travel through on my way to/from work, i make sure i am in the slow lane and can get on the throttle hard to hear the turbo & exhaust sing their sweet duet

96, no muffler, silencer ring gone, pulling 12000 lbs of hay, pulling a long hill at 1700 rpm. Its cold outside, windows open, wifes looking at me like I'm nuts.

You guys have some serious problems... ... ... .....

Evidently so do I. . :-laf :-laf

I seem to have developed an un-natural love of tunnels and bridge underpasses. I just hope I don't hit anything while watching my mirror to see how much smoke I get out of my stacks. :D

Going up?

Going up a mountain pass in the summer, with a fifthwheel behind at 50mph, 1900rpm, around 1100' and 25# of boost, listening to the echo off the side of the mountain, wanting the mountain to grow another ten thousand feet! Oh sweet sounds..... :D :D Oo.

23,000 lbs GVW on an 8% grade listening to the turbo whine and the rumble and then down the other side into the first corner with the exhaust brake. Life is wonderfull in this mode.

Wonder if St. Peter has opened a Cummins Performance Shop yet, if not, I don't want to go :D

No stacks here. just 4 inchs of openness :)

I however enjoy the reverb off of other cars just as much as a tunnel :) Just today there was some moron in his lowered 50's something. couldn't make out what it was. Some sort of classic that is totaly hacked up. crappy paint. broken motor (spewing white smoke with the hint of radiator fluid in the air). all around "dude, you are and idiot, you shouldn't be working on cars, and showing them off" kinda moron.

Well, there were 5 or 6 people in this boat. And to top it off, he kept reving and trying to look fast..... *shakes head* they FINALLY, switch lanes (heavy traffic, stop and go).

I drop to 3rd roll up on the throttle right as my front bumper is at his rear, Smoke, 3000rpms just as I get my tail gait next to t he drivers door. I could see a bunch of heads spin so fast, well, the heads spinning had to be faster then the car! :)

and I know for a fact, that my exhaust has been know to cuase ringing in ears for 5 minutes with a pass by like that. HOURS of ear ringing when you get you get cought sleeping at the light and have your n ose on my tail gate for a full 1/4 :)

Their heads HAD TO HAVE BEEN just a few inches higher then my tail pipe. . :)

hehhe, I'm cruel :)
