I just bought a 05 srw and put 35's under it with 715 mile on the clock.

It came with 265/70/17's and my buddy has a 2004. 5 DRW will my old tires fit on his truck without any problems?

Hope someone knows and can help he needs a set and mine are free to him if they fit.

thanks,

mike

Mikcon,

Just put a set of 265/70/17's on my DRW a couple of weeks ago and there is plunty of room between the duals.

I have the 235's and with my 5k lb camper, I only have about an inch of clearance betweent the duals. How much weight have you added and still have sufficient clearance?

I will be in the market soon for new tires and would like to go a little bigger without having to change anything such as spacers or rims. I've heard the stock rims may be to narrow to go any bigger than 235.

Also, what brand did you buy and are you happy with them?

Thanks

Dward,

There is no problem with clearance if you have the 3rd generation with the 265/70/17's. The 5th wheel that I tow weighs 9,250 lbs dry. I bought the Michelin LTX AS. I tow with 65psi in the front and 75 psi in the rear. Will go down to 55psi in rear when not towing. I like the ride of the Michelin. They do pick up a few rocks. I'm very happy with them. I pulled across the scales the other day while towing and with just the truck on the scales the weight was 10,280lbs and the trailer was 7,980lbs that gave me a gross of 18,260lbs. They are not much wider than the Goodyears that I got 57,700 miles out of and still had some life left in them but with winter coming on I bought the Michelin's never cared for Goodyears. If you have any other questions please fel free to PM me.
