where the transfer case vent hose is supposed to go? Right now it's hanging straight down and I can't figure out where it is supposed to be.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Paul, I went out to try to take a picture and this is the best I could do. Pretty bad, I know. It's impossible to actually see where it goes, so I had to just stick the camera in there and hope for the best. Near as I can tell, the line simply lays atop the transmission and is clipped in place somewhere up near the shift tower.

There should be a plastic vent on the end of the tube. Be sure it's there before you stick it up on the transmission. If it were me, I'd just stuff it in there and zip-tie it to the wire harness in the picture.

It runs out of the transfer case up and over the transmission by the shift tower, and sticks out at the firewall passenger side in the engine compartment.

Well, that pretty much explains things. I always assumed that hose in the engine compartment was the front axle vent.

The axel vent looks the same only it's on the drivers side located at the shock tower under the hood :p .

Very important to blow air through these every oil change or so to make sure they are clear, otherwise leaky seals will result.
