Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) does anyone use stainless fuel line?

We used 1/2" SS tubing on my Dakota project along with #10 flexible line for the areas that it was too hard to bend the hard line to. I havent found any disadvantages to it except that it is hard to make some of the connections neatly unless your just going to bead the tubes and use band clamps. We elected to solder (i think i spelled it right) all of the connections and it was difficult.

I would think that if a guy had access (FREE) to some 1/2 seamless stainless tubing and swagelok fittings it would be a great idea. With the proper tubing bender you could make it go anywhere you wanted if you are good at it.
 
SS tubing isnt that expensive if you buy it at a local steel mill. I bought mine in 22 ft lengths that they cut in 1/2 for free to transport. Once you start bending it and you make mistakes it goes fast. I had access to a Imperial Eastman bender. I tried a cheap bender and on the first bend pieces of it went fluing across the garage because it snapped parts in the bender (not good). 1/2" s. s. tubing is very hard to bend without the proper bender and tools. imperial eastman tubing tools 350-FHA WIDE RANGE TUBE BENDER KITS 350fha

In my recollection, silver solder is pretty much required for stainless. I had to alter my fueling slystem a bit and had to connect a 3/8" hose barb to the end of some 3/8" stainless. I opted to use a brass compression fitting. Tightened the crap out of it and it seems to be holding OK.
 
every race car i have ever built uses a combination of hard lines (s. s. ) and AN stuff



it is the correct way to do it
