Do the 04-05 dodges have more big and little problem then an 04-05 chevy? (Balljoints, liftpump, trans, a/c divertor, etc) Or is it that TDR has just been able to document and identify any problems the dodge has so we can find fixes and the chevy doesn't have a magazine/ website as good to do that with? Does it make it seem like a lot of things break? Or is it that we talk about what breaks on a dodge so we can fix it and chevy website like diesel place don't talk about a broad range of problems? What do you think?

IMO Dodges are made better yes they have there problem's but far less the chevy with the Durascrap Diesel engine

Had both 04. 5 CTD and 05 D/A. The Ram is so much more powerfull and trouble free. Ya, lift pump and U joints went out repaired under warranty, thats it. Sold it to my brother and he loves it as well.

Duracrap had its steering gear box replaced one month old, she ran hot even in cool temps and very poor MPG at 8-10 with only 10K GVW, very expensive to service with a cramped engine compartment, and the list of complaints go on but no time this morning to list.

hobigusn i admire your extensive reasearch. question is have we convinced you to join the brotherhood yet. go gethca one.

All makes have their "growing pains" and I have no brand preference at all!! If you're doubting the engine, just look at 99% of diesel conversions and see for yourself that Cummins is the choice that most people make simply because it has been proven in almost all applications for decades!!!

I wish I could have the very best of all three, but I don't have time to build the PERFECT truck powered by Cummins.
