Go to another Dealership

o_mccarroll and others:

Go to another dealership. I'm from San Antonio and I've had great service a Bleaker Dodge in New Braunfels, Fiesta dodge in San Antonio and Crenwlege in Kerrville. I've found a really good one here in MD, Waldorf Dodge.

BTW, was that the dealer you bought it at? Was it the service manager or general manger who told you your warranty is void? There's lots of recourse that doesn't cost money: through the delaship and regional rep, DC, and if no satisfaction, a letter to the Better Business Buero, the Texas Attourney General.

Finally, after all else fails, get you a couple of big signs saying Don't Buy a XXXX Dodge; They don't honor their warranties. Drive by several times a week.

Duane-

I live at Hwy 6 and Settler's Way, just spittin' distance from you. We've probably seen each other before on the road and didn't know it.

FWIW: I was able to transfer the extended warranty the previous owner purchased when I bought the truck from him. It is a Chrysler extended warranty. I have excersized it 4 or 5 times for axle seals, a pinion seal, electric seat motor, etc. However, nothing having to do with the engine or transmission so far (knock on wood). In all cases the gauges, 4-inch exhaust, BHAF, ATS 3pc manifold and so forth were in plain site. Obviously, the truck has been modified. At no time have they indicated the warranty was in jeopardy. I'm thinking since someone else is paying the tab, the stealership guys don't worry about aftermarket items. This alone may make extended warranties worth a look.

Anyone have other thoughts or experience?

Barry,

I think the tech was looking at a different thing then what I'm refering to. Seems every Dodge service department has a different computer (read the PTO Thread). I know Cummins can see marks of an Edge EZ as evidence of people who have worked with the software. Can't find the post now, maybe I'll try later. I remember the guy saying "when I hook up the cummmins software, I can tell if a box has been on it. " Someone replyed back and asked even if it was an EZ, and he said yes, even if it is an EZ.

Have fun at the LSTDR campout, I'll be in Baytown. :)
