2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Does my 98.5 have the transmission temp line.....

Quick question, I just ordered the Westach temp gauge for my transmission and have read old posts about a line that I can tap into for a more accurate reading than the pan/dipstick method. Does my 98. 5 have this?... ..... if so where is it located and is it easy to install? thanks for any advice...

Chances are that your truck does not have the cooler line with the fitting in it. Just crawl under and locate the two transmission lines going forward to the radiator and trans cooler. One should have the fitting in it. If not, your dealer can sell you one. I did this to my '99.

i think the only trucks that had a cooler line fitting on them from the factory was the 94-95 autos.

Yep. The DC p/n for the cooler line w/port is 5011244AA.

Right on, That's what I needed. I did locate the lines and will order the replacement. Thanks for all the input... .

One thing I forgot to mention, you need to remove the check ball in the male end of the short rubber hose. It is a rubber ball and a small spring. We don't need that one on the 47RE. There is another elsewhere.
