Just wondering if anyone knows if the new 03 CTD will use a lift pump. If so will it be the same one we are using on the 24V CTD?

In his article, 2500/3500 Ram: The Next Generation, Steve St. Laurent said, “The lift/supply pump is located on the side of the motor right next to the fuel filter and is an all new design supplied by Federal-Mogul. ”

I wonder what kind of pressure this system will supply?

Yep, Federal-Mogul and Carter are the same company now. The new engine has a lift pump mounted in the same location. It is a completely different design from the current one - we'll have to see if different means better or not. For one it has a completely plastic housing. If you look at this picture #ad
you can see the lift pump just to the right (it's actually behind the filter) of the fuel filter cannister - it's black plastic and is the same height as the fuel cannister. The white part at the bottom is the fuel inlet to the pump. Seeing the lift pump still mounted to the engine was one of the biggest disappointments for me given all the problems we've had with the existing setup :( .

Steve,

Does the lift pump send fuel to an engine driven high pressure gear type pump that furnishs fuel to and maintains constant pressure in the fuel rail?
