Can someone from Kommifornia confirm this...

In answer to a request from CGoyette, I am posting more information on the dog seat belt harness. First a bit of background, since my 80lb dog, Tyson, does not like to ride in the bed of the truck, and being a regular cab, she has to ride in the front seat. Tyson is very good about staying in her seat, but much prefers to sit up and see where she is going, rather than lie down and sleep. This position usualy results in her nose ending up very close to the wind shield. After experiencing several rather scary panic stops, where she slid forward on the seat, with me grabbing for her collar and her paws all over the dash, I found the dog seat belt at the local pet shop. It's made by Four Paws Products and is available in many sizes. It's similar to a standard webbing dog harness, they have just added a loop of webbing to the top, that you can pass the seat belt through. I posted this picture in a previous thread: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=262295

Another photo of the harness on Tyson is below.

Safety Vest

One of the problems with having a black dog is that they are so hard to see at night. A couple of years ago we had a close call crossing an apartement driveway. We were on the sidewalk about half way across the driveway and of course had the right of way, and this car comes tearing out of the underground garage and out the driveway. The car passed only inches from Tyson's nose, didn't even slow down.

Found this  safety vest for her, made of the same mesh material and 3M reflectors as regular safety vests, made by Highland Manufacturing. She wears it all the time when we are outside in the winter, makes it easy to keep track of her when clearing the snow.

Check this out

Here's the website for the auto restraint we use with out 100lb. Doberman :http://www.canineauto.com/ . The harness seems to be very well built and has 2 heavy-duty d-rings that attach to the seatbelt lanyard. When I bought mine, the price was very resonable also.
