Well i will be doing my FASS setup this weekend and was wondering since i am dropping the tank to do the pick-up tube..... Should i go ahead and do the VENT mod also? I dont notice my truck taking a long time to fill up... .

By doing this MOD, what do yoiu do with the roll over vent hoses at each end of the tank? Or do those even have anything to do with this VENT kit... . THANKS

Now is the time to do the VENT mod if you are dropping your tank. Everyone who has done the vent mod has good things to say about it.

The rollover hoses have nothing to do with the vent mod but it is a nice time to check and see if they are even there.

crabman :)

Oh i know the roll over hoses are there that i looked for right away... Very short hoses though... .

As far as the Vent kit where does it mount at?

In a nutshell... you drill a hole in the top rear raised portion of your tank and install a new hose there. Then you cap off the old vent hose and the new one takes it's place on the filler neck.

Without the vent kit, you can fill your tank up to the filler neck (with fuel, not foam), but it takes 10 to 15 minutes after the first click-off to get there. With the kit, filling to the same level takes about 1 minute after the first click-off.

You won't regret doing the vent kit.

Hey guys. I just did the vent mod on my '07. It took me about 2 hours taking my time and with the newer fittings on top of the tank, removing the tank was easy compared to the '03. I took a bunch of pics to add to the instructions that I will post a link to here when I get them downloaded. Probably tomorrow sometime.

I tried twice to fill the tank on the Mega Cab, but after 15 minutes of trying, I gave up. It filled to the top in about 35 to 40 seconds once I got the kit installed. The vents on the short bed trucks used to enter the tank right beside the fill neck, but on the Mega Cab, it enters the lower portion of the tank forward of the fill neck.

I've got pics of the inside of the tank also. Interesting.
