2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dome light will not cut off

Can someone help me with my electrical glitch.

When I get out of my truck and hit the door lock on my keyless (factory) everything works ok the horn chirps the doors lock and the dome lights go out them about 30 seconds later the dome lights come back on. To make the dome light stay off I have to dial the dimmer headlight switch all the way down till it clicks off. And when I drive at night I cant turn the dimmer switch back on to light up the dash lights because it will turn the dome lights back on. HELP!!!

IIRC, there is a timer. It could be going bad.

Took mine to the dealer for that... . The switches on the doors are pretty tough to adjust. The dealer worked on mine, now sometimes the dome light comes on and sometimes it dont. (with the drivers door open)

I found the problem it was the drivers side door switch now I just need to figure out how to adjust it in and out if it can be done.

On my 98 I couldn't get mine to adjust out far enough to shut the light off.

I ended up installing a #8? self tapping washer head screw in the door exactly where it contacts the button. (My door had a little wear spot there. )

The screw head brought the contact point on the door out about 3/32".

It worked for me. Ray
