Dome light

OK guy's here it is in a nutshell. doors closed dome light comes on when I put a bulb into the socket light over top of heater controls doesn't come on. Turn headlight switch counter clockwise and blow courtesy light fuse any ideas? Thx Bill

Your dome light works off a ground. The light has power all the time. The door switches just ground the circuit.



Pull up the driver side sill plate. That is where your wiring runs for the dome light. Check and see if one of the sill plate screws didn't go threw the harness. Dodge used to be bad on this years ago.

If your sill plate wiring is good. Then you need to pull the headlight switch and check to see of the rheostat section on it is bad. I have seen the rheostat break and coil it self up and cause the same problems your having. But the sill plate is the easier of the two. Thats why I sent you there first.
