2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Donaldson muffler question

How quiet is the 51" Donaldson compared to stock, inside and out? Does it still sound good? Can it be used with the factory resonator? I'm looking for something as quiet as possible. How would it compare to a 4" Stainless Hog exhaust with their quietest muffler? Thanks

I have the Stan's 4"Exhaust, which comes with Donaldson truck mufler, mine is 4' long, and I love it. Inside the cab is quieter than with the stock system. No drone whatsoever. I am really glad I reaserched a lot before buying a system.

I have a Nelson 51" (same muffler) and it is great. It is more noticeable than stock, but not loud by any means. With the windows up on my truck, I do not hear the exhaust. My turbo whistle is louder than the exhaust. (from inside the cab) I think they have a great sound.

DPike, my system just uses muffler, no resonator, and it's aluminized, not stainless st. It's full 4" from the turbo back. And again I'm really happy with it, it came as a complete kit, straight bolt-on, and I'm glad I did my homework. A friend of mine has a MBRP 4", and has drone, a bad one, above 1700 RPM, it's an 02 truck too. He is installing second muffler. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
