Wiredawg,You're 1'700. 00 plus the cost of a waste gated 14cm housing(included in my Banks Stinger Plus kit, over 400. 00$)is 100. 00 less than what I paid for my entire kit. I bought this in Nov. ,99. Depending on what your doing with your truck, You've lost in the EGT range,With fuel , you need air (boost),in my case, the 14cm housing was what I had to have with the Otto-Mind to keep EGT's managable while towing. Too much fuel burning through the exhaust manifold(Hi EGT's) is caused in part by in complete combustion of the fuel, in this case more air more complete combustion, Did you still get a better deal?
 
SD-455,wiredawg has one of those silcone valley marvel 24 valves,everything costs more. A Stinger for a 12 valve is around $1700,with turbo.

I am interested in having you specifically engineer a system for me. My fuel and power requirements are on the high side. Economy isn't nearly as much of a concern. Also, I'm fairly emission tolerant so don't let that be a factor. I guess that performance is my goal. I feel the Cummins engine is pretty durable without any help so we don't need to belabor this point. Please advise me as to the maximum performance you can provide me in terms of rear wheel horsepower based on dyno results for my specifically engineered system.

I installed the Banks Power Pack a little more than 2 years ago and, other than being bit again by the BOMB bug, the kit was an excellent product. The techs have always responded to any questions and when my EGT guage went 100 degrees out, they replaced it with out a problem. Warranty was expired when they said send it in. My speed increased from 53mph to 68mph when towing my 5ver across Monument Hill in the Rockies. As for the turbo, I bought the 16 and recently installed it, but am debating going back to the 14cm that was part of the Banks kit.

Excellent kit and excellent service. As for the price, I recall reading where another member had priced all of the parts individually at about the same price as the kit. This was for the Power Pack parts including the dual ram intake, wastegated turbo, cam plate, otto minder, muffler, pipes, K&N filter and the pyro and boost guages.

Of course I've seen some products I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole either, but other customers swear by them. FORD products are a prime example of that! #ad


Sorry to hear the Banks kit didn't work for you. If I'd spent that kind of money for the kit and it didn't perform, I'd be "majorly" disgusted also.
 
I'm not going to flame banks here but in those "engineered" kits what acctually makes the power here, twin ram for 500 bucks, or is the intercooler for 800 or the "big head" wastegate actuator in combination with a "quicker" spooling 14 housing that is bigger than a 12. Oh or maybe its the fact that you either slide the plate forward or install a different one.
All I can say is you guys got piece of mind for your money but its cost you alot.
As far as warrenty, maybe on their stuff but that doesn't matter to DC.
 
I've never had DC warranty problems with my Banks. In fact the dealer where I bought my trucks recommends Banks and offers their kits as an option.
