Any benefit to removing the drooping insulation under the hood? What about the gaskets around the hood?

Any benefit to running no muffler when I upgrade my exhaust?

I have no muffler now on my Ford F-250 with the 460 big block and love its sound with just the cat.

There should be no reason you could remove that insulation. It's just there for heat retention and maybe some noise control. I still have my insulation under the hood but I removed the firewall insulation when I did my head gasket. Just made things easier and less cluster when removing the head.

I would definately run your truck with no muffler. I have been straight piped on mine for about 6 years now. I guess the only benefit would be cooler EGTs, less to no backpressure on the turbo and no restrictions in the exhaust track. The turbo is basically your muffler and IMHO, the only one needed. :D
