how to clean aux tank?

Hmmm, I'm thinking...

Although I'm cautiously optimistic about this I will be dreaming of $2. 00 a gallon tonight. ;)

Massive Oil Deposit Could Increase US reserves by 10x

America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed. Thanks to new technology the Bakken Formation in North Dakota could boost America’s Oil reserves by an incredible 10 times, giving western economies the trump card against OPEC’s short squeeze on oil supply and making Iranian and Venezuelan threats of disrupted supply irrelevant.

In the next 30 days the USGS (U. S. Geological Survey) will release a new report giving an accurate resource assessment of the Bakken Oil Formation that covers North Dakota and portions of South Dakota and Montana. With new horizontal drilling technology it is believed that from 175 to 500 billion barrels of recoverable oil are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951. The USGS did an initial study back in 1999 that estimated 400 billion recoverable barrels were present but with prices bottoming out at $10 a barrel back then the report was dismissed because of the higher cost of horizontal drilling techniques that would be needed, estimated at $20-$40 a barrel.

It was not until 2007, when EOG Resources of Texas started a frenzy when they drilled a single well in Parshal N. D. that is expected to yield 700,000 barrels of oil that real excitement and money started to flow in North Dakota. Marathon Oil is investing $1. 5 billion and drilling 300 new wells in what is expected to be one of the greatest booms in Oil discovery since Oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938.

The US imported about 14 million barrels of Oil per day in 2007 , which means US consumers sent about $340 Billion Dollars over seas building palaces in Dubai and propping up unfriendly regimes around the World, if 200 billion barrels of oil at $90 a barrel are recovered in the high plains the added wealth to the US economy would be $18 Trillion Dollars which would go a long way in stabilizing the US trade deficit and could cut the cost of oil in half in the long run.

Next Big Future: Bakken and Torquay Formations - A Saudi Arabia of oil under Saskatchewan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Manitoba

Have sweet dreams, but I'm affraid we will never see $2 diesel again. As far as this oil resource reserve being tapped, I'm quite sure the enviro-wacko folks will prevent any logical use of this resource and then 50% of the population can blame the president for fuel prices. I HOPE I'M WRONG!

At what point will the enviro-wacko's feel the pinch in the pocketbook? Are they all loaded or what?

A typical environmental wacko is a student spending the taxpayer's money or that of his/her parent's, is a government employee (city, county, state, federal), or is some type of pretender receiving government grants to save the planet, is unemployed drawing assistance or is disabled receiving government benefits, lives in a big city where there are carpools, buses, etc, and drives a Honda/Toyota/Kia or other small car if he has a car.

The wacko couldn't identify a CTD is we parked one in her living room and couldn't guess which end of a trailer to hook to a Dodge Ram. Others are sissies whose recreation consists of going to plays, looking at art in museums, sewing, browsing libraries, sitting in coffee shops criticising President Bush, attending liberal propaganda movies, or going to gay pride events.

Most of them don't have squat and that is one reason they are environmental wackos. They resent, envy, and want to punish those of us who have nice trucks and RVs or horse trailers, or boats, or whatever.

Bwwwaaaaaaahhhhh Haaaa Haaaaa Haaaaa Oohhhhhh Waaaaaaa! You just perfectly described some people that I know but can not stand!

if I could never buy fuel a cent cheaper, but the large find of oil changed the geopolitical landscape of the world, I'd be happy.

just having all that money stay in the north american economy would be fantastic

Great news! The key to being able to utilize this resource will be convincing the envirowackos that this particular oil is the low-carbon variety!

There is a current reserve that is at least 2-3x's the current supply that was found several years ago in the gulf... I read where China is trying to work with Cuba to drill at an angle to get at this reserve and pump it... . What I read was that we, (we found it) can't get the permits to drill and recover it... our wacko's seem to think its not safe... .

Being from North Dakota it is a good boost for the state economy but all the oil that is being pulled from the ground here is considered a surplus oil because of the lack of pipelines "exisiting ones are at full capacity" to ship it anywhere and the shortage of refineries here in the states. ND has a Nice cash reserve and has been throwing the idea around of building a state owned refinery. We already have a state owned Mill for grain.

In perspective

We can pump all the oil out of the ground we want but it doesn't do much good if we can't do anything with it past that point.

The entire western half of the USA sits on one of the largest surplusses of oil in the world. Way bigger than anything the mid east can dream of. The problem is that its deep and is under hunderds of feet of solid rock that hasn't been able to be accessed due to lack of technology to get to. I have read and seen a few shows refering to this oil reserve in the past

Very well put... . once again !!!

Place you Google earth pointer on,

Lat. 27 Lon. 43. Oil everywhere! The little black circles you see are 0. 5-0. 6 miles in diameter.

Makes me sick!

If only more of our population could see things the same way.

Very very well put!!!:D

I wish supply were an answer......

but I strongly have come to the conclusion that huge resources like this will only allow the oil companies to Charge us even more.... . since when has supply been an issue - are you waiting in any lines??? You can buy as much $4/gallon Diesel as you want!!! You guys tell us that the free market will only drive the $$$ so why wouldn't they just take this or any, such as ANWAR, Outer Continental Shelf - Gulf or wherever, and sell it to the highest bidder - NOT any of US I might add!!!!!

The high price of fuel fits right in with the goals of liberal "save the environment" types like Al Gore, et. al, whose aim is to reduce Green house gases and other pollutants, not help us reduce costs. They have said for 20 years that the way to reduce fuel usage is to have it cost as much as it does in Europe. Classing the enviro wackos as not having anything fails to include Gore who is now a multi- millionaire spending millions on greenie causes and many others with agendas that don't parallel most of ours, even though they believe they (1) are right and (2) represent us and our best interests.

For a straight answer to the question that started this thread, NO I wont sell my diesel.

I waited too long in my life to own one and have spent a bunch to get it the way I want it.

Kind of along the same lines but slightly off topic.

Power Plays: Drillers Eye Huge Appalachian Gas Field | BuzzFlash.org

Also the Gas field In Wyoming(The Jonas field I think) is said to stretch into Utah almost to Nevada and hold several trillion cubic feet as well.

My point is that the US has a vast supply of energy reserves. Yes I believe that we will run out eventually but I'm quite confident it won't be in my lifetime. or in my children's, or grand children's or great-grandchildren's or...

Mine is paid for- I'm keepin it! Energy was rediculously expensive during the Gulf War in the early 90's, then look what happened in the late 90's. $11-$12barrels. Let's hope we can pull thru this also, although this looks bleaker than the early 90's. The enemy we are fighting this time is greed and corruption. I can remember, back in the late 90's, a friend of mine, well educated, answered my question of "when will oil run out?" by stating, "when THEY want it to... " We all know who "they" are.

From a scientific standpoint, who knows, Alaska may be the next Saudi Arabia, it may not be. I have heard that there is as little as 6 months of oil in AK. But people don't realize how big that state is, there is a ton of uncharted land up there. And Russia, geez, makes AK look like Rhode Island. But that bridge with Russia may be burned.....
