Need your help, been driving truck parked it for a few hours and now it don't turn over. The lights come on the dash and the batteries are good. Check them a minutes ago even put jumper on third battery. Nothing. Have P2509 code. Noticed the fuel presure gauge goes up to 9psi when I turn the key on and steadily drops. Fuel pump is clicking but the truck just isn't turning over. Need truck running today. Thanks Everybody.

Still can't get it running. Turn key on don't hear fuel pump and don't turn over. FP gauge goes to 9psi then slowly goes to 0 when key is on.

FIRST, you need to check if there is a bad connection at one of the terminals ... Try to twist the battery connection lugs at the terminals sideways... if they move easily or evn at all the need to be snugged up tight. . Also check for corrosion at the terminals !!! If they are corroded they need to be thouroughly cleaned and reconnected.

If the connections check out, then you need to check the batteries voltage and capacity with a voltmeter AND either a load tester or a battery hydrometer !!

Almost any parts store will also voltage and load test your battery for free, but if you can't drive to the store, obviuosly you have to pull the batteries to have to have them checked, which can be harder then simply testing them IN the truck with a voltmeter and hydrometer. A hydrometer costs less then $10 at any decent parts store, but if you don't already haev a voltmeter as well, then you should probably just pull the batteries and take them in.

Once BOTH batteries check out, IF they check out, you can move on to other tests to determine what is NOT working... it MIGHT be the fuel pump, maybe the fuel filter s plugged, but from your symptomes it sounds to me like the batteries simply do not have enough juice to energize the pump or the starter.

Let us know what you find !!!

Yes checked the batteries today and they was replaced last week. These are a week old and also tried using the jumper cables. Not the batteries cables there tight.

P2509 means the PCM lost battery voltage when the truck was running/key was on. Clean and tighten the battery terminals first (all four), remove and tighten battery grounds(s), and then check the battery lug on the PDC/TIPM for clean tight connection. There is a gray (I think) single wire connector on the dash near the brake booster. I believe it is a brown wire, but it is all by itself. That is the starter solenoid wire. Disconnect that and check with a meter or test light on both ends while cranking. You can also jump the end going to the starter to B+ and the starter should crank.

UPDATE: The code 2509 is from disconnect the batterys while installing the AutoMeter gauges FP,Boost,Exhaust a week before this problem. So after checking the starter and removing the lid on the fuse box and swaping the fuses and relays around still nothing. Got to call for the hook, wrecker came over and off to the local dealer. That afternoon got the phone call said it's fixed. He said all it was is the maxi fuse #72 and checked for a short. Couldn't find any signs of what caused the fuse to blow. Charge me 38. 00. Got home and looked at #72 and said no way. #72 wasn't a maxi fuse it's a relay that I had swaped for another one before calling the hook. None of the relays looked new to me so I really don't know what was wrong but the 38. 00 wasn't bad... .

see my thread a week or so ago. same issues. but starter would turn it over. i have a guage an and it would read 9 psi then drop to 0 with ing on, or cranking. i was about to replace lift pump but tod at tc diesel had me unhook the batteries, for about 10 min, then it fired right away.
