Guys,

I think it's quite obviuos that I'm a passionate person... ... That's how I am about life... ... . I also have a RAZOR sharp sense of humor. Practical joker and just a general wise @*%. But I'll always help someone who needs it.

I've been pondering this topic and I have this to add:



1. If you want to remove: Decals, Badges, Body side moulding

Use either a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the area first. Make the most of mother nature if your truck is a dark color it works even better..... Let the sun shine on it, wont have to work nearly as hard. The heat gun and hair dryer... ... TIP: Don't make badge/lettering so hot that you can't hold onto it.

I've already covered the RAZOR BLADE bad idea previously, so I won't go there again... ... ...

Now... ... The badge is off... ... if it didn't come off with all the adhesive still on it... ..... use the badge adhesive to blot the adhesive on the truck off... ... ... Like sticky tape picking lint/hair off of your wife/girlfriends black pants..... while she's wearing them... . hopping around and giggling... . you'd be suprised where you'll find lint. LOL

OK... ... ... OK... ... ..... Now if all else fails and you STILL have adhesive left... ... . mask off surrounding areas..... especially if you have body side moulding and don't want to compromise it's integrity... ... Take your trusty can of WD-40, terrycloth towel,t-shirt,paper towel,shop rag or whatever as long as it's clean/soft and start wiping..... keep it saturated and rotate rag of choice frequently..... clean with soap and water that's the best... ... . but can use glass cleaner if time is not a luxury.

I really loke my truck, really, but I don't think it would be quite as much fun doing the Tape to get hair off my wife pants thing I just don't think my dually will be as responsive as my red headed wife (now she is something I'm passionate about).

one more hint

another member taught me this one... ... ..... to get the original badge off, after it is warmed by sun or heat gun, use some heavy monofilament fishing line to work under the badge, then"saw" back and forth under the badge to loosen. nice way to remove the badge without bending it, or hurting the paint. dental floss prolly would work, too.

Just got the new Eastwood catalog today. They now have a special tool to remove emblems. Not sure how it would do on the remaining glue? Or maybe it takes the emblem & backing in one shot?

Princess Diana was one of the most beautiful Women ever inside and out. Class... ... A true lady and a breath of fresh air. A woman that gave other women something to aspire to. But since the avatar is small and her hair isn't blonde there I didn't recognize her. Sorry, I wish she knew me too.
