I personally cut the wire in the steering column. This way the chime still works for all the other things like for the gauges and if you leave your lights on and such things. I'm sorry I forgot the color. It's either blue or yellow and it's small. I'm leaning toward it being yellow but don't cut until someone confirms the color. This was the easiest thing I found to do. If your truck is setup to where it won't lock if the key is in the ignition you loose that feature. I'm not sure if mine was or not, never tried it.

Just cut the brown wire.



I never did figure the reason for the door dinger other than to annoy me.
 
me too, that was the first thing to go when i put a working dome light switch in the drivers side, the door buzzer and key buzzer on at the same time brings out the urge to dig it out of the dash and stomp it
